Are these worth it? Has anyone else got it? I know im not going to see a huge difference. Im not trying to make hp and tq with it... i have my car for that, but i would like to get something other then the stock airbox on their. Suggestions/opinions?

KKM, it was $100.13 or something out the door. Deep throaty sound from the engine is the best part of it if you don't care for horsepower or anything.

Get the KKM intake, the K&N is not worth the extra cash.

When i first put a conical filter on it was a home depot meets k&n filter system;) It made mild improvement in throttle response. I later swapped in the FIPK Gen II system from K&N Throttle response maintained, but I a lso saw mild gain in the mid range. The 45 to 60 weak spot diapeared (well it evened out with the rest of the acceleration. Overall didn't do a lot, but sounds nice:D
Coupled with a new cat-back system, it began to make a change though. Go with KKM to save the extra hundred, unless you like the look of the K&N. It soothed my vanity:rolleyes:

^That's the picture of the K&N and here's the KKM with no fancy tubing. It does the job just the same. :)

lol no i don't have any pics it was effective didn't have any noticable air leaks,but it just didn't look as good as i wanted. Personally though if I had the choice again i would probably get the kkm and maybe add some heat wrap to my intake tube. if I want it pretty, Summit has some nice "stainless" sleeves that lace up and block a lot of heat, think it's from Thermo-tec, sure would have been cheaper. Then again if I was thinking of moving to southern California in a couple years. The KKM would not pass inspection. K&N is CARB certified.

Well I have a 98 5.0 and could not find just any old filter system. I did however order the MAC from EE. Now I need to spend another 250 bucks and get that chrome thing-a-ma-gig that I need. LOL, words leave me now.

What I want to do is paint the blue stuff on that filter intake. It seems to be made of rubber. Any ideas on the spray paint that I should use to do that with? Anyone?

Thats a Gen 1 FIPK. Look at how puny the KKM looks next to it.....

The KKM sure looks a whole hell of a lot cleaner!! Why would you need such a gi-normous filter when all the air still has to go through the small MAF?

Hey that K&N has only been washed once in 2 years of service.

I was just giving you a hard time. Probably a good idea to clean it though.
