Autolite dbl platinum at Advanced Auto $3.10

Autolite makes the Motorcraft Double Platinums. There the same..

The autolites are only good for 50K so they say, but arn't the motocrafts good for 100K? or is it just a play on numbers?

i got my motorcraft plugs from autozone, about $25 for all 6...double plat.

i took my plugs out at about 65,000 miles and i'd say that they were pretty close to shot...several of the electrodes were very far from the required gap.. The truck has never been driven very hard or anything like that..i'd say for max performace change plugs every 55k to 60k

I've glanced under the hood, and it looks pretty tight to change a couple of them on my v8, are there any tricks that y'all have discovered in this endeavor?

BigDaddy, what you cant get from the top, you can get through the wheelwell. Jack it up(let wheel hang), lift up splash flap, and you can even see them. Its not as bad as it looks.

Will try AutoZone...Advanced Auto had the Autolite's...

Got 64K on what appears to be the originals...want to change them....

although it sucks working out in the cold and snow...need a heated garage!

The Autolite plug and Motorcraft AWSF-PP spark plug for the 1st gen OHV v6 are NOT identical plugs.

The Autolites have a shorter end than the Motorcraft plug.
