Talking

I realize that going to a 31" tire is not really "big" for some of you guys. But I am looking to go as big as I can under a stock '96 XLT 4x4. I have the stock 15" aluminum wheels, and running boards. There is no lift at all on this truck. So once again, is there anyone with the exact same setup as I have who has put 31x10.5s under their explorer?

Also, the BFG KOs are getting a good reputation here. I am just wondering about their cost relative to other tires.

Anyone know of a web site with more info on these BFG tires? I had problems with the BFG site.

Thanks muchly

Hello,

I have a 1998 XLT and have 31x10.5x15 Savero Swampers on. I love them and they look awesome! Everyone here and pretty much anywhere you go love the BFG 31's more then life itself but I didnt like their look. They have a more boxie tire tread pattern and the Savero's have the old Super Swamper more rounded look to them. They fit just fine with no rubbing. I went ahead and raised the front torsions about 2 inches worth and now it looks tight!

Good luck!

Cool

Hi Jambo,

Seeing is believing. This is my 97XLT with stock suspension, and these ARE 31X10.5 R25 BFG A/T's on stock rims.

Thanks for the information. I now feel comfortable that I can fit these tires under my truck.

Anyone have a pricing comparison?

Cool

When I was looking for 31's I found the following price comparisons.

BFG AT = $95 each
Savero Swamper = $70 each
Yokohama = $85 each
Goodyear AT = $90 each

I choose the Savero's for price but mainly for looks! I like the swamper look.
