heater fan works sometimes and doesn't others. HELP!

I've just started having this problem with my 87 Ranger. Sometimes when driving the fan will turn on and the air conditioning will engage, but sometimes it doesn't. Another odd thing is that when the fan isn't working the blinkers don't work either. The hazard flashers still work, but the blinkers don't work. This is totally random too, sometimes they work and other times they don't work at all. If anybody has any suggestions on what to look for or what could be wrong, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!
Thanks!
