94 AC problem

When I go and turn on the AC it blows hot air instead of cold air. The compreser pump doesn't angage as it should. Can it be a blown fuse? If so, what fuse am I looking for? The truck is a 1994 Explorer XLT.
Thanks for your help. I can't take it any more without the AC.

I'm moving this to the AC forum. The threads there and the other sticky threads will help answer your question.

If the system is low on refrigerant, there is a low pressure cutout switch that will prevent the compressor from operating ... why? Because the lubrication is carried in the refrigerant and no refrigerant = no lubrication = burned up compressor in short order. You probably just have a low charge.
