does anyone know if i can put the newer 16" wheels and tires from the newer explorers on the 91 explorers and get away without any problems.

im not sure.... how about stock tires on 16s and also what would be the largest tire size on the 16s on the older explorer?

i had 2000 16'' wheels with 255 75 R16's on a 92 Explorer XLT and i didn't have any problems with rubbing or anything else

I've got 98-01 16" wheels on my 94 sport. I'm running 265\75\16 tires. However, I do have a 2 1/5 Duff lift. You shouldn't have any problems running a smaller tire size with stock suspension. Also, you'll have to cut a hole in the center cap for the front hubs.
