Question

Does anyone know for sure what the largest spare I can get under my 96 4-Door is? I want to run 33's and I'm wondering if I can get that diameter tire in the spare area (I doubt it). What has everyone else done with that?

you dont need a full sized spare. the stock spare will get you to where you need to go to get the tire fixed.

ummm no

I wouldn't trust a 29(approx. size of stock tire) to get me back into town, or where ever you have to go, but like you said the 33 will not fit under the X I fit a 31 under mine but it is a 91 not sure if they are same room size, time for a roof rack or a tire carrier/back bumper!!

Thanks for the info. I'd much rather want to run a 31 than a 235. But I bet my Explorer would look pretty tight with a nice bumper carrier! Thanks again.

Make sure your spare is the same diameter as your tires because I know a guy who blew out a differential running 2 different sized tires when he got a flat
