Question

ive decided on 17x9 cobra r rims for my X (real ones, not replicas.) now its time to wrap them up in something. i dont know too much about tires except that my firestones arent recalled. here are the options im looking at (in no specific order):

all are 275 60 r17

1) yokohama avs st ($165 each)

2) falken ziex stz-01 ($147 each) (ive never heard of this brand...are they any good?)

3) bridgestone dueler hts ($131 each)

all those tires are considered Light Truck/SUV-Street/Sport Truck

which do you guys think? im open to any and all suggestions considering that i dont know much about tires (and in case anyone is wondering, i dont really leave paved surfaces with my truck. my truck is primarily a street truck.)

cool, thanks. i just asked one of my roommates if he ever heard of them and he said that he had them on his last mustang (he goes thru mustangs like water.) he said he loved them. and i think id like to stay away from the bridgestones because of the whole firestone thing. looks like im probably gonna go with the falkens.

Tire size

Have you considered the Dunlop Grandtrek TG35. THe 275 - 55R17 is an oem size for the Mercedes 430. Prices seem to be veru reasonable at under $100 per tire. Check out the Tire rack or your local Dunlop retailer for exact pricing.

Still trying to decide if I want to go Cobra r's with the 275 and a slight lowering or 3" body lift and 285 75's on my factory 16" rims myself. I have to admit that the ride was much better when I dropped it the first time...

Dude , go with the Falken's I've owned both the GRB's and the Ziex they we're both great tires, with good wear, good traction , X-elent ride . And I've also used Nitto NT-450 , terrible tires , good wear but no traction. I have 18's on my CRX w/Perrelli P-7000's right now great traction but that's about it , plus a little pricey. You should also consider Dunlop Sport W-10 I have those on My S-10 , 235-40-17's I've had em' almost 2 yrs. and they still look new . They compare real even with the Ziex , good looks , wear, traction , and price ... Hope this helps out. Later.........

Um, they're gonna be your tires....you should choose....They arent goin on anyone elses truck, so they need to only please you. Sorry for the rant, this basic question comes up at least once a week. I know someone will respond to me in regards to he was just asking for an opinion, and I'm well aware of that
