price for used firestones???

Im going to trade in my original 255/70/16 firestones from my Limited for some 265/75/16 BFGs. The firstone dealer told me to bring the vehicle in and he will make me a "deal". My truck/tires have 24k miles on them. What can I expect for a trade in? Has anyone else made a similar deal? I just dont want to get raked over the coals. Thanks.

I've heard that they may be recalling the 16 inch Firestone tires this summer. With warmer temperatures on their way (incidents of tread seperation resulting from warmer temps) and Firestones probable willingness to do anything honest to get customers may result in a recall. This dealer may know this and is trying get what he can while he can. Of course, don't quote me on this either, I'd hate to have you hold me to this and such a recall not occur. I heard that this was going to happen in passing. I figured I'd throw it out to you figuring that you may end up with an even better deal if a recall happens. See what the guy is willing to do, it can't hurt to find out if you can get a good deal. Hope this helps.

The manager at Firestone wouldnt quote me a price until he seen the tires. I was driving my F-150 at the time when I stopped in. Thats why I want my duckys in order before I go.
