What a scam

Not only is this a scam, but check out this guys rating by people he has sold to. He has 7 negatives / 17 total. A couple of negatives are for people that bought the 'exhaust recirculator' and never got it after sending payment.

He is also selling another device he calls 'oxygen sensor recalibrator'. If you read the description of how it supposedly works, there are some inconsistent statements which make me believe that he doesn't really know how it is supposed to work either.

actually, what he is selling is supposed to eliminate the EGR. in theory, you "block off" the EGR, now you no longer have small amount of exhaust gas going into the intake charge, intake charge is now cooler/denser, thus creating more power. my question, (as i have asked before) is this guy says it wont throw a CEL. how? EGR is tied into program, i say there is no way. it HAS to throw a CEL... i think im gonna make a hose that runs from A/C ducts to intake. that way you get much colder intake charge than outside temps. think it would be worth $50 on e-bay?

maybe ill get a 5 gallon air tank and plumb it into the intake tube.... it will be like nos but isnt explosive!--forced air induction, baby!

thats even better than my A/C idea! it will also reduce emissions, due to the leaner intake charge. what about running the air line through the electric charger? then, you would proly get at least 6-8 lbs of boost.

What about running the end of your tail pipe into your intake hose? That way you can have not only forced induction, but since it will be come a closed loop system, once you fill your gas tank up, you will never need gas again.

seriously

What does Ebay do if someone reports that this guy is scamming people? Would they take him off or do they just ignore it?

I feel bad for people that waste their money on something like this. I'm usually all for Darwinism but not many people in the general population would have the knowledge to see through this.

I'm also amazed that he has gotten positive reviews from some people on this crap. He does have a really high number of negatives though. I've seen other people have hundreds of transactions with no negatives, yet this guy now has 8 neg /17 reviews.

Oh, on the subject of disabling EGR to improve performance, I reread that section in the Ford Fuel Injection and Engine Control book by Charles Probst (very highly recommended if you are interested in this stuff and I am because I'm an engineer ).

Basically you probably shouldn't bother because the EGR only is on during warm cruise strategy (read the book to see what a strategy is). It gets turned off the rest of the time so it doesn't really affect power during acceleration. If you disable it you will probably adversely affect gas mileage and emissions during warm cruise because the computer adjusts fuel/air ratio to compensate for EGR flow. And it will probably turn on the CEL unless you come up with some scheme to fool the EGR pressure sensor.

Also if you read this book and the info of how fuel / air ratios are controlled by the computer, then read his(ebay) description of how his "oxygen sensor recalibrator" works, it becomes very apparent that Mr. Scam is a moron on that concept as well.

busted?

I just posted this to the rules and safety people at Ebay:

Item 1849786396

I believe that this item is fraudulent. I believe that it does not perform the function described by the seller. Furthermore, even if this item works as described, I believe that it is illegal to sell or use this item in some states (i.e. California) because it attempts to defeat certain functions of the emission control system. The seller is also offering other items which I believe are fraudulent or illegal for the same reasons above.

The message on the Ebay site says to give them up to 36 hours to investigate.
