Question Late model stock wheels fit older explorers

I searched and searched some more and could not find this out.

Do say 2002 Explorer wheels bolt right on to a 91? Are they all the same specs or not?

thanks in advance

Hey I'd like to get newer stock rims on my g1, simply because they are bigger and i could use less rubber to achieve factory acceptable outer diameter and get some better handling. I dont need all that meat on a 2x4. So what generations or years are backwards compatable with G1s?

for what i know everything from 2001 and before should fit a First gen X. Yes, you will have to cut holes in the center caps for the hubs to poke though but other than that it should fit just as the stock tires did. The center caps are plastic i believe so cutting them shouldn't be too bad. I am putting 2000 mounty chrome rims on my 92 next week... i'll be sure to post pictures

I had 2002 Monty wheels on my 2001 X-sport.
They fit, tho I had to run 1/4" spacers in the front to keep the tire from rubbing (ran 255s). I decided not too long after that I didn't like the look...so now I got 18" CobraR'ahz and 1" spacers (6061 Billet aluminum) all the way around.

Will these fit on a first gen. I'm not sure what year they are from, but I think 01 or 02. I think they would look awesome on my 91 two-tone tan.

What years, fit what? I always thought 91-01 were the same.

I put 95 Eddie Bauer wheel on my 91XLT and the only mod to get them to work was to cut the holes out of the front center caps
