tyre change vs gearing/speedo help

hi all i lifted my 97 explorer 2" all round now im replacing the std 235 x15 with 10.5 r 31 15 any probs forseen with speedo or anything else.... how will gearing go cheers shaun

depends on what gears you have now. With the V8 you most likely have 3.73 gears which you'll be ok with. You may have 3.55 which will be a bit worse but not too bad.

As for the speedo, you'll be reading about 5 mph low. To fix this you'd need a speedo gear with one less tooth. However, I dunno if your 97 V8 uses a speedo gear or the VSS for the speedo. If it is electronic, you probably won't want to spend the money to get it recalibrated for 31s.
