I found a set of KC Daylighers (stainless) for $120 on wrenchead.com....... Good price? These are 150 watts each....is that adequate for offroad? I had a couple of large sqare KCs a long time ago and they were very bright......cant remeber the watage though....... Does anyone have these lights? I really wanna light up the trail/beach I'll be driving on ............ Thanks in advance!
The other day I was driving around in a torrential down pour and I had my Hella's on. After it stopped I looked at the two if them and one of the lights had moisture in the light casing itself. That went away like two days later. Then I was drilling through my firewall to make room for my new amp wire and I accidentally hit a wire and made a spark. That blew both of my fuses in my distribution block for my fogs and hellas. I replaced the fog light fuse and they work just fine but everytime I change the fuse and turn the hellas on the fuse blows. I have re-insulated the wires surrounding the hole. I have no idea what went wrong and why the fuse keeps blowing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just bought a Conferr 59x39 rack. I need some lights and came across these: Dead Link Removed From the looks of it I'm not sure if they will fit the rack, I want to mount them on the front. But I'm sure I could get them on somehow. Anyone know if Pro Comp lights are any good?
Ok...so I bought a set of "K3" ( I think) lights.....projector style, square "super brite"..........$59.99 at Pep Boys........ They LOOK like PIAA "super whites"......in fact, they even say "55 watt bulbs performs like an 85 watt" on them........ Nice housing, etc.......chrome bezel....composite case that LOOKS like aluminum, like the PIAAs.......... Problem is, they just aint bright at all.......I have them temporarily mounted with 3M on my front bumper, underhung....Look ok, I guess...just not useful at all on the road.........If I turn my headlights off, its like I have nothing on at all, really........... I am spoiled, I guess....my 92 Dakota has two 9 inch KCs on a grill guard that light up the night great.....my old...
Ok, I want to get some of these lights. I know Matt Adams has them, you will probably see this and read it, so here are the questions. Can they be mounted on the stock bumper? I will try to pull it out as far as it goes. And, I found them at carparts.com for somehting around $211 for the black. Does this include everything? All the wiring and stuff?? Are they hard to wire up? I am sure they aren;t for you[matt[ because you hae like 3 or 4 sets. But how are they wired? I am also thiking of getting the PIAA replacement 9004's for my explorer also since I wasn't lucky enough to win a pair. Do these go for $70? Also, is it a really noticeable difference? Are they street legal?? I will be buying these from carparts.com for a...
I am planning on upgrading my lighting in the next few weeks and have some ideas I want to throw out to the group. I want to have both driving and fog lights, but I don't want to change the front end appearance much (i.e. no bars or guards). I could mount some rectangular fog lights in the factory locations, but how hard is it to use the factory wiring and switch and stuff? Also, could I just put in brighter headlight bulbs instead of driving lights? I know I'll have to make some compromises, but any advive would be great. Thanks
I was wondering, after reading all the articles on bulb replacements. I installed the sylvania lamps in my explorer, and after about 2 hours one of them blew up. This left glass everywhere inside my headlamp. I replaced the bulb, but the lamp seems to not produce the amount of light as the passenger's side does. Does anyone have any suggestions? As you know, the headlamp is almost impossible to get inside of, even to replace the bulb! I also was wondering what bulbs are the best? (as in output) I kinda like the rainbow/blue look, but I desire a more HID look than the Sylvania's. Which is best for the price? 1997 Explorer EB [Edited by PandaPimp on 07-23-2000 at 01:47 PM]
I bought four lights for my roof rack that came on my Explorer (96, XLT) when I bought it. Just the ones you can slide back and forth not an actualy steel rack with sides. But anyways I need to know how to get the wiring inside the car. Should I drill a hole in the roof? Or run it through the door or how did you guys do it? Thanks Keith
