painted front/rear bumpers, stepbars (truck bed coating), fender flares, tail light, rims, removed amber insert in headlight housing, tinted windows 20% all around, debadged, meshed grille. It should be the chespest project with the most works done. I did them all with my two hands... the grille is the ONLY addition. Tell me what you think.
I have a 1000 bucks to spend on something to use for in the woods and for hunting. I spotted this in a classified ad for $900. Rebuilt motor, 4x4 works, looked a bit rough, but ran well and the heater worked good lol I got him down to $400 bucks, so i took it. The inside was a bit shaky, but will do for now
So I got this brush guard off Craigs List for $50 bucks. It had no mounting brackets, and needed to be sanded and repainted. My friend and I made the brackets from a even heavier guage steel than the frame of the truck. I will take pics of the brackts if anyone is interested. Took 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of semigloss and flat black. Its a custom paint job that looks and feels like rhino liner. LMK what you guys think!
Plagorizer, I know...:D I recently acquired this ugly 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4X4 with 197k, for $700. It has some things that it needs, but then again, what would you expect from a $700 Explorer? -Needs a Transmission, or reverse ring (reverse is out)-FIXED -Roof liner is toast-FIXED -Rear drivers side quarter panel is crumpled from guard rail hit -Both bumpers are junk-FIXED -roof has 2 dents-FIXED -roof rack is all bent-FIXED -Front drivers side fender is pushed out (common problem from the "Wal-Mart Kid" jacking vehicle up in wrong place).-FIXED -Grille is crap-FIXED I could keep going for another 30 things. If you saw my thread, I had a chronicles going on putting a 5R55E transmission into the place of my old 4R55E...
Well, I finally did it!! The firestone tire recall forced me to get a new set of rubber, which of course made me go for a little more height. I just finished the 3" Performance Accessories body lift ($195) and rolled 33x12.50 GoodYear Wrangler MT/Rs underneath on 15x8 aluminum wheels. Check out my pics and let me know what you think!! http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/bigmellon/lst?.dir=/Bigmellon%27s+Sport+Trac&.view=t -Bigmellon
Ok, I finally got a bunch of stuff installed in my Explorer ST. I don't have the Before pics, but I am sure that most of you out there with late model explorers can imagine! I placed a rear view camera in the third brake light of the truck. The video is fed to a 6.8" LCD monitor in place of the rear view mirror. I also have the ability to display TV (Ch 3-69), DVD, and will soon have my night vision system working!!! A lot of crap to fit into the dash! started building my Explorer recently and so far LOVE it!! This picture is before the bodylift was done. Nicknamed "X-Daddy" she's already proved herself offroad worthy and has impressed (and converted;) ) many people who didn't think Explorers could hold their own. I'll update pics when new bumpers and flares are installed. Let me know what you think so far!!
