Know where I can get a fender and a header panel for a blue 2000 Eddie Bauer with tan trim. I've checked multiple junk yards around me with no luck. Rockauto.com has them but shipping is way to expensive because it has to be shipped by truck because of its size. Any leads would be great thanks for the help guys
Hey guys.. im a noob with a 1997 explorer xlt. My explorer currently has rust on the rim of the wheel well and is starting to spread. Is there a way to get rid of it? Like cut sections of it off and add the plastic wheel well rims I see on other explorers. thanks!
I have a 2005 Ford Explorer xlt. I am looking for the trim paint code. The regular color is DX dark blue pearl met. The trim around the wheel wells and bottom of the bumpers is either silver or light grey metalic. There is only one paint code on the door label. I know this subject has been on this site before. I thought maybe an owner with the same vehicle would know the color of the trim. I am pretty sure this color was only used on 2004 and newer vehicles. Thanks.
I would first off like to replace my privacy glass of the 95 and 96 explorers with the glass of the 97 explorer. (not appearing mirrored) How much would that cost and where would I get it? Secondly, I Definately need a rear panel, and carpeting for a 1995 explorer. Gray. I would also like to replace the door panels, as mine are aging significantly and stained and just ugly looking. Anybody know of where I could get these things or anyone selling them? I've checked ebay and they only have consoles and bezel trim etc.
I've been replacing all the weather seals on my Ex, but having a heck of a time finding one for the lift gate. Every place I've checked online so far shows the seal, but says it's no longer available. I'm starting to think I'll need to use a more universal seal, and am wondering if anyone has replaced theirs with one that has a different shape to it, but still works? The stock one has circular foam seal on the bottom of the u-shaped channel, then a half circle foam seal running along the side. I've found a similar design from Fairchild or Steele, but the dimensions on those are too small. Anyone use a different design that still works effectively? This seal is looking so I really need to replace it. This is a Fairchild...
I have a 2009 ford explorer eddie bauer. When driving into a strong wind at highway speed, i get a loud buzzing, whistle, or humming sound. I traced it to the front of my hood to the chrome grill valence extension on to the hood. I replace said chrome piece but still have the whistle. I know it is this piece because before i replaced the piece i put a piece of cloth wedged behind it and the noise stopped. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so how did you fix it? There is a black piece of plastic between that piece and the hood that may be the cause and may just need to be sealed to the chrome piece.
Hey Guys, summer's almost over and I've been neglecting my '98 5.0 for a while so I've decided to start fixing some of the little problems and get it back in shape. I was backed in to last winter damaging my grille and front passenger fender, and easy fix. The problem I'm having stems from a blowout with 31" BFGs going 80mph on the driver side rear. The tire completely obliterated everything from about 2" below the gas filler door down. It's not mangled and bent, it's all completely gone. Two questions - When I go to the J/Y to get a replacement, should I cut it where the damage is only, or should I take the entire quarter panel from the rear door all the way to the rear hatch, from the glass down so all the welds will be in unseen...
hey guys, i was wondering if there are any guys in NEPA that can do body work, that can help me out. the doglegs on both sides of my X are shot. primarily the drivers side, its pretty much gone. i have the parts to replace them what i dont have are tools or the knowledge. im not looking for someone to do it for me but help me to do them myself. i could probably pay a little for your time, but pizza and beer is more my budget right now... im the type of guy that can help others when i can, so id be willing to help anyone else with something if i can. thanks mike
hi just wanted some info on my trim an side steps even if i dont place them back on the trk when im done cleaning up some rust. pics below were the brackets i have hear stock ?? my guess is no ive looked at some in the bone yards up here an they are all L shaped. but when i look at the back side of my rocker panel their are no holes drilled for a L shaped bracket .:dunno::dunno:
Last October my 1996 Explorer XLT was rolled. It wasn't the kind of roll where the vehicle is done for good. It rolled onto the driver side. The driver side A-pillar is bent and the roof is buckled. The windshield has crackes near the A-pillar but not throughout the whole thing and the roof looks like it stopped buckling before the middle of it. I don't want to get ride of her so I would like to fix her if possible. One of my midnight thoughts was to cut that part of the roof and pillar out and reweld a donar patch in. I know that takes time but its possible for me and my friends to do our self. Any other ideas that actually work are much appreciated and I'm on a slight budget.
