This is the registry for members of the "Elite Explorers"CLICK HERE TO BECOME AN ELITE EXPLORER
So one day, way back in 2009, I went out for a run. Being 15 and all, I had about one thing on my mind: I wanted a car. Fords were quite popular in my family, especially Explorers (92 XLT, 95 XLT, and an 02 XLS), so naturally I felt the connection when I saw Wendy sitting in front of a house with a small 'For Sale' sign in her windshield. It was getting close to twilight on a beautiful Padre Island day, so she looked beautiful against the colorful backdrop. I quickly wrote down the number and sprinted home (not even kidding about that part). The next morning, my dad and I took it for a test drive. It was then I noticed some things about her. Her gray paint was very weather beaten on one side. The roof has large rust spots on...
Well I've been a member for a few months now, and I'm finally Elite, so here's my registry. My real name is Jesse, and I am a 21 year old attending Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. I live right outside of Bloomington in a little wide spot in the road called Unionville. The explorer I have was handed down from my parents. They bought it in '00 with a little over 100,000 miles on it. Since then it didn't really see much other than the road until I got it. It was officially mine on my 17th b-day, and I had it two weeks before it was wrecked. There's a thread about it here In short, I smashed a tree after losing control on a gravel road. Here are some pics of that: It took me a little while, but I got it fixed...

This is my 2000 XLT bought in November of 09 bought it for the sole purpose of having another 4X4 that will get descent gas mileage since I plan to increase the height and tire size of my 96 explorer. I bought it knowing it had some rattle but for $1500.00 it was worth the work to me. Here's a quick preview.
Well, about 3 months ago, I sold the explorer, and now I've gone and bought a 1988 Ranger XLT 4wd. I really don't want to mod it that much, if at all. It is just going to be mostly a work/daily driver. I will be using my motorcycle mostly (GAS PRICES!!) since it gets 50+ mpg. The Ranger will be nice on the inclimate days here in AZ. (Few and far between, but they do happen). So wish me luck on my new ride!!
Recently joined the forum after purchasing our 2004 Explorere XLT V8 4wd to replace our ailing '04 Pontiac Montana. I've already benefited from the knowledge base here having diagnosed the rear ABS sender malfunction and how to find the combination key code. Along with the repairs mentioned we've replaced the passenger side rear wheel bearing and and the shift indicator needle assembly. I have some regular maintenance stuff I'll be doing as we go along. As we bought her... Broken fog light... A little bit of wear and tear on the driver's seat... Yes we are members of the split rear trim club... The "X" came with really nice winter tires on the stock alloy rims so we decided to pick up new wheels with new summer...
