When I order body-kit and get it installed the whole vehicle will be painted Black w/ Purple flake. All lighting will be Purple, Brake Calipers Purple.
Well here is my registry. a little bit about me. i am 23 years old. i am currently an in the accelerated nursing program and work full time. Hello All, I have been a lurker for a while here, and I decided to become elite. I have a 2005 Explorer Limited that I bought on 11/22/11. I had been looking for about 8 months for the right one and actually was looking at another explorer (04 NBX) on the lot when the salesman said he had just traded an 05 Limited. I absolutely fell in love with it. It was the first one that I test drove with the V8 and the power compared to the V6 was what really sold me. :D Specs, Mods: 05 V8, 3.55 gears, 5R55S Transmission Every option excluding rear park sensors, class III/IV hitch and rear HVAC. Gibson cat-back exhaust Pioneer Head Unit, JL subwoofer/Rockford amp in stock location Near future mods: SCT tuner w/ Henson Tune and a...
Hi everyone :) Long time no see to some 'oldies but goodies' and hi to the new members since I was away. As one of the first lifted 3rd gen members on the site and as a contributor to numerous stickies in the repair section(s) I just had to pickup another Ex when the opportunity arose. I seriously love the 3rd gen's and was on the lookout for a nice one. Just brought her home today: 2003 Eddie Bauer 4x4 V8 with all options. 82k miles, 1 owner certified and a 10/10 in condition. This truck has a lot more in it than my old NBX (in my siggy). Sunroof, heated seats, climate control, rear air, leather, parking sensors, etc. Being a veteran member and previous owner of this same generation, I already know some of the first...
Okay, I think I've waited long enough. This is Kevin AKA Kevlar's registry. So, I had an ex wife and a family. We bought a 94 2wd. It was an okay family vehice except it had an air conditioning gremlin. Ugh, it was always hot in that truck. And don't get me started on the transmission nightmares in that thing! One afternoon, a Mercedes turned left in front of her. No body damage, but it ripped the I beams out of the suspension. Insurance totaled it. I didnt't want an awd, too many moving parts. But the rich guy who owned it started low balling me... it was his wife's truck. He bought her a new BMW..... Well when I saw her, I was sold. 97, 5.0, awd. It's white over grey. 6 years later, here I am. The great white. Okay...
Had no intentions of really buying another Explorer as I planned on getting a pickup next year but....I seen this one for sale cheaply and body in great shape so I picked it up. The owner stated that she was the second owner of it for the past 8 years and claimed she washed it and swept it every week, which it looks really good in and outside. Nikki4X4 named it Beauty. 1997 150k Miles Power windows, seats, locks, keyless. Automatic with the 4.0 OHV (Yes!:D) 3.73 open I don't really plan on lifting or modifying this in anyway because its going to be her winter truck for the most part, but I am trying to talk her into letting me at least put 31's on it with a tt/shackle because in my opinion it sits too low...
I picked up one of them controversial 2011-2013 Explorers the other night for the wife. :D She absolutely loves it so far. Twelve hours after buying it we headed on our first road trip up to WA State. I averaged 21.5 mpg and half of that was mountain passes. So I'm pretty happy. The technology in this thing is pretty insane. Especially compared to my Super Duty. Anyway, I think this is going to make a great little family hauler. Kids love the moon roofs!
My names Jimmy, and iv been a member on the forum for a couple years now. Well, after all the help the forum has given me, i decided to give back and finally become elite. Now for a lil background on the truck: Its a 99, 4.0 SOHC, Automatic, with that crappy auto 4 wheel drive that i plan on ditching. I got the truck at the beginning of December 2009 as my first truck when i was 17... Needless to say i wasnt kind to it lol. I swamped it in the woods 4 days after i got it and killed the t-case, slid off the road in a snow storm and jacked up the front end a month later, and just beat this poor thing senselessly. I will say, it did make me a believer in the Explorers strength haha. But after about 15 months of ass whoopin, the timing...
2'nd year elite now, love this site a LOT! I'm a mechanic in Euless, Texas, and still haven't met any Explorer fanatics around here. Had my baby for around 4 years now and love it more and more allthe time! Started out bone stock sohc 4.0 4x4, then after a year driving it every day, I decided to play with it. Sunk it in a mud hole where the water was over the hood, and over reved it, which spun a bearing on the center shaft, or whatever you call the shaft that drives the rear chain. Had to have a buddy tow me home. Then got a wrecked 5.0 awd and put my body on it with a 2.5'' body lift and 31'' tires. Next was dumping 3 grand into beefing up the 5.0, and getting an electric 4406 t-case, which I run off the 4x4 switch in the dash, since...
This is my 1991 Eddie Bauer 2dr Goldilocks. I had been on a search to purchased an Eddie Bauer 2dr for years. Mainly a Gold and tan combo one. Throughout my search 13 years or so. I had only come across 3 counting this one. Hints the name "Goldilocks", it was just right. So when I found this one in California going through insurance auto Auctions with a clear title I knew I had to jump on it. Thankfully EF member Section525 lived close by enough to pick it up for me once the auction closed. He stored it for me for nearly two months while I found a shipper for the Explorer. Many things are planned to make this Explorer better. A full paint and body restoration is in plans along with few later model Explorer upgrades. 4wd...
Obie's 98 XLT 5.0 AWD Update 30 March 2013: Added a few paint pictures, updated current, in progress, and future mods. I've been lurking here for a few years, became a member A little while ago, and decided I'd help out this great forum by becoming elite. Also, I never did a normal registry so now I get to make a brand new on here. My name's Lucas, I'm living in Crown Point, Indiana and I have two Explorers. One is a 98 Eddie Bauer 4.0 4WD that was my brother's and I was going to use for parts, but didn't really need anything from it. The other one, the big show, is my 1998 XLT 5.0 AWD. I also have a 97 F150 XLT 4.6 4WD. Here's both my girls together: Right now the 98 is down for a frame off restoration, more of which is...

About me well my name is joe and work as a mechanic in nj, and like most of you I'm the outdoorsy type.
