Gatorblazer's Elite (Updated) ***********Continually updating. Check the end of the thread for new stuff***** Due to the large amount of cash I have saved due to this site, and because I have two of these wonderful SUV's, I decided to become elite. I would love to post pics, but am having a bit of trouble. So until then, I will tell a little about myself and the Explorer's. My wife and I live in Bham with our doglike cat Putter. He is a stray I found while working on a sewer replacement. He sounds like a little Briggs motor just putting around, so she named him Putter. We have two Explorer's a 93 and a 95 both 2wd. The 95 is a salvage title (rolled 4 times) with 175K and no problems, no leaks. Best car Ive ever had...

Well hello all! I've been following along for a while, since I got my 2001 Sport Trac in October of 2011 with 98k miles. The only additions at this point is a sticker and the nerf bars I found this site fairly quickly but really didn't have the monetary means or the time to do anything major to it. First thing was the addition of a topper for some cross country moving to Idaho The shorty with a totally loaded back end. Poor thing has some saggy ass.. Arrived in Idaho with an unloaded truck finally. Doesn't look nearly so sad Finally I got my nerve up and added a 1" TT and 265/75/16 bfg at's Next I got a K&N Air Intake system after reading a bunch about it on here (LONO was the real culprit in making me want one lol)...
Here is my Explorer, 'TruckTruck'. The truck was bought in late '95 by my father from Universal Ford here in Richmond. Was driven all over by us until '99 when they upgraded to the Expedition. The truck was then sold to my Grandfather to give to his son, My uncle, who used it in high school and college until he bought his Avalanche in '07 when it was given to me. And I in turn did this: 1996 Explorer XLT -Built 4.0L OHV V6 - Link -K&N Cold Air Intake System -Dual 2.5" Flowmasters Suspension and Drivetrain Mods -2in. Torsion Twist -Custom Leaf Springs -33x12.50 BFGoodrich All-Terrains -15x8 Crager Soft 8's 4in. Obie's 98 XLT 5.0 AWD Update 30 March 2013: Added a few paint pictures, updated current, in progress, and future mods. I've been lurking here for a few years, became a member A little while ago, and decided I'd help out this great forum by becoming elite. Also, I never did a normal registry so now I get to make a brand new on here. My name's Lucas, I'm living in Crown Point, Indiana and I have two Explorers. One is a 98 Eddie Bauer 4.0 4WD that was my brother's and I was going to use for parts, but didn't really need anything from it. The other one, the big show, is my 1998 XLT 5.0 AWD. I also have a 97 F150 XLT 4.6 4WD. Here's both my girls together: Right now the 98 is down for a frame off restoration, more of which is...
Hi every one out there. My name is Chris and I drive a 99 Explorer Sport. It used to be a 4.0 SOHC 4X4 and now it has new life as a 5.0 V8 AWD. Right now she sits on stock sizes tires with rims off of a 2010 Ranger. Any ways the girl friend likes to name all of my cars so she named it Black Beauty. So now I guess I need to do some black out work. Any way here is a list of mods that have been done and a list of what will be done. Mods Include Interior 01 Sport Seats 01 Sport Instrument Cluster w/LED's Remote Start with Alarm installed by me. Sony Head Unit Pioneer Speakers in the front Cerwin Vega Speakers in the rear Kicker CVX 10" 1200 Watt max subwoofer JL Stealth Subwoofer Box Rockford Fosgate p500-2 1000 Watt max amp LED Interior...
Dreamr's little mountain goat ( 99 XL 4x4 ) The Truck and the Story I surfed in here one day looking for info on my newly purchased Ford Explorer, and that my friends may have been a fatal mistake. For soon after entry the rumored Mod Bug bit. Painful little bugger, and I hear there is no known cure. Oh well if I am to be ailed by the bite of this rare creature at least I can be provided respite with this elite group of fellow victims. Whose to say I suffer anyway 'tis the finances which will begin to suffer  I always dislike having to say whom I am, and am tempted to move on to the truck. But then you would just get let down by my nearly stock X and be disapointed before I had a chance to say hello. Here I am at Bridal...
Howdy everyone (and thanks for checking out my Sport Trac!) My name is Luke, as you've probably already guessed. Yes, I know everyone calls their Ex's 'XPLODR', however, I've owned 3, so I am allowed LOL. A little about my previous vehicles: I started off with a black 1996 Explorer Sport 4wd, 126k miles, purchased in ~2003 for $4000 with 126k miles. I sold that vehicle in 2007 with a blown transmission, and ~200k miles, for $700. I then bought a black 2003 Explorer XLT 2wd- 55k miles, for $13500 in 2007. I then sold that one for $4400 with 106k miles in February of 2012. Here's a picture from the day I sold it: At that point, I purchased my current vehicle - a 2005 Explorer Sport Trac 4x4 with ~60k miles, which I...

Thank you TBars, I hope I am doing this right. LoL I have a 2004 Ford Explorer Sort Trac XLT It's stock with the exception of bull bar, nerf running boards, and hitch. I bought in May of 2013 with 93,678 miles on it. I did change the factory door speakers with Kenwood on the front and Kickers in the rear doors. Alpine is the receiver that came with the truck. I am currently doing one project on the truck with the running lamps, it hadn't came with any, doing the climate/radio bezel change to have added switches.
1997 4.0 SOHC, RWD, XLT, 4 door, Automatic, 16000+. She is mostly original, as in the hoses she rolled off the lot with. I bought her from the original owners, who only did the NEEDED maintenance. Named Bruja because she will bite if you touch her with a wrench. Invested: $1000 Purchase $1000 5 new tires and new spare rim. (Story to follow) $500 repairs so far. New Power Steering line, fan belt, idler and tension pulleys, thermostat housing assembly, sensors, and hoses mounted to the thermostat. Needed: General Maintenance, Transmission, Rear End, Shocks. Drivers Seat and seat covers to match. Thinking of switching to high mileage synthetic. Plugs and wires. A/C Kit - leaking from the compressor. Stereo System, factory radio is...
Well on 13th of this month. (My b-day) I went and bought the woman a 98 V8 AWD XLT for $2700. She has been wanting a 4 door something for a while now. With with 2 kids both in car seats I can understand. As for mods the list will probably stay small. But any ways here is the plan of mods for it so far. She likes the ranger wheels on my sport and hers needs tires soon so she will get the ranger wheels and my v8 sport will be getting some 18s put on it. Remove roof rack install later model bumper and color match it to the body install side skirts/wheel lips and color match to the body Cold air intake electric fan remote start remove chrome grill and replaced with a color matched one Well that is all I can think of for now. Completed...
Well ive been on this website a little while and have gotten numerous people asking about different things that I have done. Some examples would be the Fabtech lift spindles, rear sway bar disconnects, front hitch. So I thought I would create my registry where people could ask questions if needed. Name is Blake and here is Ol' Dallas (my gf named it that, no idea why but its stuck) I bought it with 50,000 miles and bone stock. As soon as I found this website to learn how to change the thermostat housing, I knew that had to change :D For the front suspension I have Fabtech Ranger Edge 3" Lift spindles and the Torsion bars cranked about an inch. The rear suspension is some warrior 153 shackles and procomp add a leaf. About 4" all...
I can't seem to stay away from the Explorer world for more than a year. I just checked out a '94 XLT earlier this evening. She's in a rather rough state at the moment but I have plans for a nice winter truck for her. Specs: 1994 XLT Condition of the motor: unknown Trans: not really there Transfercase: taking up space in the boot. It has minimal rust for an 18 year old truck with 160k on the clock. Trans died and the owner decided to try to rebuild it himself. No such luck. It's currently sitting in a guys shop with the motor and two axles. All the parts are there except the trans which is junk. Body work is nice and straight. The passenger rocker has disappeared and a small amount of rust at the top of the rear arches...
