12/09 UPDATE: I have updated the Interior Mods section of my write up. Hey Everyone this is RPheezy, formerly known as the R. I have finally graduated to Elite Explorer status and I have uploaded pics of my rig. Below is a write up of all of the mods I've done complete with pictures. Please feel free to post questions or comments. BACKGROUND When I first got my truck in 98, I never planned for it to become what it is. I thought I would just do a few mods like a stereo upgrade and a few exterior fashion mods. Luckily when I got the truck, I got it with 4.10 gears, which saved me from having to regear when I finally put on my 33s. My brother had a 97 TJ and was fixing his up, so I started to learn about building an off...
410Fortune's 1988 FORD Bronco II 4x4 Eddie Bauer I got this truck from my older brother for $500. It had sat in a barn for about 6 months without even being started. I got the keys and it started right up.. She was dubbed "The buckin bronco" by my friends, she had a bad miss and ran like dirt. My brother had used this truck until she was in dire need of some TLC. I began to collect tools and learn how to work on a Ford. I had always worked on cars a bit but nothing this extreme. I was always a water cooled VW person. I had 4x4 RC cars growing up and loved the idea of having something to go off road. I fell in love with the truck within a month, nothing drives or wheels like a short wheelbase Bronco and the BII, even stock was...

Jeez ive been on this site forever and decided to do a little exploring tonight in the "un clicked" parts- I never knew there was actually an Elite Explorer Registry... so I figured Id put in my thread for those of you who dont know me. Im 20 years old (well will be on March 29, 2004; close enough). Currently an auto technician at STS in central NJ. Also a full time Mechanical Engineering student at Rutgers University. Graduate in 2006! This explorer was my first car. By the time i had my car for about a year, i had done all the "cosmetic" stuff to it basically because in small steps its cheap and easy. No need to add a long list of items to this thread- you can see pretty much everything in the picture: Next I started...

Its that time again. This month's Feature Truck goes to a guy who has a lot of time and work in his Mounty. Using his words the "madness set in" and he now has one of my favorite trucks on the forum. This month Feature Truck goes to Turdle and his Awesome 1998 Mounty. It is one street truck that has gone wild. Hopefully I will be able to catch with with him here soon. Here is to your work Jon. Check out his build thread. I just listed the motor specs. Yeah its lifted too with a pretty nice lift kit. The Goods and Build Thread Link: 347 cubic inch, stroked and bored engine FMS sportsman block-bored .030 over and machined for stroke Billet crankshaft with chev rod journals H-beam ultra light rods Probe...
Background ------------- -Purchased used in May '01, only 13,000 km. Supposedly driven by Ford employee before that. -replaced a Contour SVT which was getting too beat up on backcountry gravel roads getting to mountainbike trailheads. -have also owned a '93 Sport and leased a '97. -2000 has been very reliable. Needed the timing chain warranty work done, needed some work done on front brakes been great since. -Michelin LTX M/S tires replaced the Wilderness A/T as part of the infamous recall a few years back. -other toys that go on and off include Yakima roof rack (bike and ski attachments) and Thule hitch-rack (bikes) -had rear wiper motor replaced under extended warranty, not much better than original (need to "push start" it...
Well I've been sort of a lurker here for a while with my Ranger, but I just picked up an 05 sport trac a few days ago, so I thought I would introduce myself. :D I've been over at offroadrangers.com for a few years with my 98 Ranger. The ranger is an XLT Supercab 4x4 4.0L manual tranny with a 3" body lift, TT, shackles, bilstiens, manual hubs, moog upper and lower balljoints and tierod ends, custom bumper, canopy, 15x8's and 33x12.50's. She has been a great truck (140k miles now) and now I'm replacing her with the Sport Trac. I'll be very said to see the Ranger go away. :( My wife drives a 97 Explorer XLT 4.0L 4x4 auto, fully loaded on 31x10.50's with around 107k miles on it. The Sport Trac is a 2005 XLT 4x4, standard options (cloth...
