Well gang, She has a new home after 50 years. I finally have what I have wanted since I was 14. Now the work begns (tomorrow). This needs work, but it is a running 56 f-100. Its very straight and very much original. Nothing special (just stock) 272 "Y" block V8 w/3 speed on the column. Dad and I left here at 1:38 am Friday and arrived at Jim's house approximately 2 PM. We loaded up the 56 and dad drove straight home. We arrived at dads house at 5 AM this morning and promptly went to sleep. This was a 620 mile journey from its old home to mine. Explorers tow this much weight very well. Here we are loading it (Jim [previous owner] is in the picture). Here is us finally home (after daylight this morning)...

Hi All, I have finally gotten my own explorer after a long search for a midsize 4x4 suv. I come from a ford family and have owned fords most my life so it was natural to end up in an explorer. It's still in the early early stages but I wanted to get this started to document its transformation. It has 105k on it and a very clean interior to go with it. The paint on the hood and roof are faded beyond repair so at least the hood will get a new coat of paint. Before purchase the power steering and brake lines were replaced. It has the 3.73 LS rear end, premium sound, and power cloth seats. This will be a DD and camping/off road exploring vehicle for me so the modifications will be subtle by comparison to some of the full builds here. The...
Ok so this is how things started... Way back in 2008... I was originally supposed to get my dads 1999 f150 Lariat 4wd, with everything I ever wanted in a pickup truck. But he traded it in and got his 2008 F150 Lariat 4wd. So I was left with one option. Fix the old Explorer in the yard. She needed a torque converter seal. One hell of a job to say the least. Well at least for somebody who knew little about trucks at 16. This is how things were after I finally got her going. Of course it didn't take long for me to find this website, and learn of all the cool things these trucks are capable of. First mod was a fishing rod rack. Next mod was auxiliary lights. And on top as well. At Fort Fisher, NC...
Well I turned 16 this June so this is the first truck I have ever owned. I was originally looking for a Jeep Cherokee but my dad found this one at the school he works at. Here it is before I bought it I paid $500 for the truck and got it home. Very first thing I did was install a new Deck because someone stole the faceplate off the old one. At first I couldn't get anything to work, and started to think maybe the speakers were removed and I didn't even bother to check. Finally I tried one more cable and to my surprise, and pain... an insanely loud song started playing :D So I'm a teenager, I like my music loud. Yet I can only listen to my stereo on 20 out of 50 because it's so loud, and it stays crisp too. I'm positive their...
