Edit: Photo bucket has royaly screwed over forums across the world!! I'll work on getting pics put back in here as best I can as time allows. Gonna take awhile for me to do all my threads though. Been looking at getting another Explorer for quite a while now due to the 260k+ miles on mine and me losing confidence in making it to wherever I'm going and back in it anymore. Been thinking all along I wanted another 2nd generation Explorer mainly because I just love the damn things. However, the TTB front end in the 1st gens were appealing as well. I'll leave it at this, I wanted either a 1st gen Explorer sport (getting hard to find, trust me!!) or a 2nd gen V8 AWD so I could eventually put that 5.0 in my current Explorer. Been...

well i have been reading and have been gathering most of what i need so i figure its about time i make a registry. I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer Premier AWD V-8 which is now almost at 160,000 Miles Heres a few pics stock only things i have done so far is new leaf springs and the hitch as for my plans im going to be putting some Rancho 5000s on there and lifting plans: shackles are going on soon AND this is going on as soon as i get the $ for new wheels and tires :) its a 3 inch body lift so im probably going with some 15x8 wheels and some 33x12.5x15 BFG A/T tires its probably going to eat gas like i eat cookies but its still going to be my DD :P
2006 Explorer XLT 4.0 V6 4x4 - 81,000 miles Charcoal Beige (Not sure of the real name) with the ugly faded plastic. Medium Light Stone cloth interior, not many options. Power drivers seat, 3rd row seats, thats about it. Been out of the Explorer game for a few years now, after I sold my 2000 Limited, I got a little Focus for work, but realized saving gas wasnt worth the price of comfort and luxury, so I picked up a 2004 Crown Vic LX Sport. Was at a Dodge dealer some time later with a friend who picked up a newer model Charger R/T, I fell in love, and let the dealership talk me into trading the Vic in for a 2013 R/T. Worst Winter we've ever had lead me to trade that in and lease a Patriot which I ended up "giving" to my girlfriend after...
Today being a bright and sunny day I decided to post some pics of my Ex. It's a '98 Ford Explorer XLT with LPG conversion. I own it for 6 months now. The tires are a bit larger than stock I think (P255/70R16). No mod's yet, but I'm thinking of installing a different air filter (not quit sure which one and if it will really improve the car's performance...). It has about 99.000 miles on the odometer. LPG conversion at about 96.000 miles. On average I get about 16.5MPG. When driving on regular petrol (something that I hardly ever do anymore!) I should get more miles per gallon because of the lower calorific value of LPG in relation to petrol. Recently I made my own toolbox for the cargo area. Just a simple wooden box that (somewhat)...
Hello fellow forum members. My name is Keith (BackBone) and here is a little about myself. I am a former mechanic turned electrician. I am a returning trombone player - hence the handle... :D I have a black 97 Mercury Mountaineer that I picked up about 4 years ago. It had 166K on the clock and a bad trans when I got it. It has 244K on it now. Funny thing is this whole time I had no interest in fixing up the Mounty. I actually was thinking of getting something different. Then I thought, 'why get rid of this truck. It has done me well these four years!' So I began looking deeper into this site and now have the bug to go wheelin! I don't want to do any insane stuff... just be able to see the countryside, do some fishing and maybe get to...
Hey, my names Stephen I live in Hamilton, MT and I've been lurking on this forum since I got my first X, it was a 1993 eddie baur that was kinda beat and only had 126k on it. but after discovering this forum I've regretted getting an auto after hearing how much of a pain they are, so not wanting to get invested in something that was bound to fail. That brings me to today! I found a clean 1994 sport, the man who was selling said it was his dads and he bought in 1996 for 11,000 and trading in his 1989 bronco XLT. I decided with how clean it was and some dickering I got it for $2100 with 123k miles on the 6 digit odometer. I'll get some more pictures tomorrow, but its the cleanest X I have seen in Montana.

I was in the search for some sort of Mid-size SUV, 4dr, 4wd, and came across a 98 5.0L XLT AWD.
