Hey Y'all ! I'm new to the board and wanted to say Hi ! I also wanted to share a great experience that I had today. I just bought my 99 Sport on Friday and noticed that it had Firestone(d) tires on it. To make a long story short, Ford has agreed to replace them even though the recall program ended in March. I know I should have checked this all out before I bought, but I got a deal I couldn't refuse. Ford customer service really made my day !
Yes, it's true, my 1995 is for sale in the state it is in (I messed the frame up a bit from an offroad mistake) since it's not ablt to be a daily driver anymore due to the front end needing alignment and some other work, i went out and purchased a 2001 Eddie Bauer with the V-8 AWD powertrain. i purchased it with just about 36,000 miles on it....that was 2 weeks ago...now the X has 42,000 miles on the clock (Thats what a vacation out to the Rockeis will do I guess) SO far I have put my new truck to the test by towing a 5,500 pound trailer down to Kentucky and back, then a couple days later loading up with camping gear and heading out west. I was suprised how much strain that 5.0L V-8 had towing the 5,500 pound trailer. The truck is rated...
Hi all, Been a Sport Trac owner since 4/01. Mine's a white 4x4, 4.10 rear, limited slip, auto. I've added a few appearance things like a Westin Safari Bar, made a diamond plate skid plate that is attached to the bar, and mounted Bosch lights to the bar. It has 275/70/16 tires (replaced 'stones with them), and just lately I lowered it 2" - gonna have to replace the tires since they rub sometimes.. darnit.. For the kids, I installed an overhead LCD to use with a PS2. Mmm, lastly I made an adapter for the MAS so I could run a 7" K&N cone filter. It's my toy, my daily driver, my ongoing project. And yes.. it's mine! Sometimes I let my husband drive it. :) Michelle

Hello everyone, I own a 98 Sport 4x4 OHV. I bought it on Ebay not to long ago. The only mods I have added so far is 14%tint, smittybilt stainless steel nerf bars, and a set of vent visors. This is my second explorer. My first explorer was a black 97 Sport 4x4 SOHC. I live in Annapolis, MD and would like to meet some MD/DC/VA members to get some ideas on what to do next.
Hey everyone! I just bought my second explorer and then I found this site. I have had two rangers and one other exploer in the past, I just can't get enough of them! I just bought a 92 xlt 4x4, it is stock and I cant wait to get some money and give it a 4" lift. I dig this site! Keep up the good work!
My name is Andrew, I live around Omaha, NE and have owned this explorer for about a 2 weeks. A friend of mine gave it to me cause he didn't want it any more and said there was nothing to do to get it working again, but with a new thermostat and battery, she runs like a dream, well except for the occational not turning over. But that will be fixed soon cause im getting a new starter. Other than that all thats wrong is im in need to get new hubs for the 4x4 and interior door handles. The 5spd. manual clutch was replace 10,000 miles ago and is perfect condition. So, here is a picture of her. LOOK AT HER! :redexp: :D
well i broke down and because of a LOT of problems with my 2000 i bought a new 2002 explorer. initially i didn't care for the latest body style. after driving it i changed my mind. especially when ford released the "sport package". i wanted some very specific options and the dealer had to locate one for me out of state. i got a toreador red, 4 door, v6. it has the sport pack [17"wheels, tube style running boards, gray painted trim], 80 watt 6 disc cd player, power moonroof, leather int, 3rd row seat [ i didn't really want this, but it might be nice for the next owner], trailer towing package. it is SWEET! it rides and handles much better than the last gen. also the headlights are FAR superior to the previous gen, better...
Hey, I just joined after getting a piece of paper on my windshield about a meeting of explorers at King of Prussia. I was at the shore so I missed the event, but I was wondering if there was anything else soon. I would just like to look at some other explorer owner's vehicles so I can get some ideas for mine.
