Hi, Im need to the forum and to Explorer too. I recently purschase an uses Ford Explorer Sport 2014. My question is the following : The vehicle is actually running on different Size tires. At the front axle the tires are 265/50r20, and 255/50r20 at the back axle. Will this damage the powertrain, awd or other componentes? Should I hurry to replace them or what Should I do? Thanks in avance for your comment.
Hi All I am new to this forum joined today. I have 16 limited explorer with 40k miles and need new tyres Costco have good deal going on with Michile $70 off and penny installation so I thought let's grab the opportunity to change hankook to Michelin I was planning to have defender ltx but they don't have in stock and they can't order it either. Premier ltx really have bad reviews on life and sales associates also mentioned same so decided not to go with premier ltx Only available option left is PRIMACY TOUR A/S. I am not finding any reviews about this tyre online so I am really confused on what I am getting. How's the quality, comfort, handling, noise etc. If any forum member have any idea and if they have used it can share...
Hi, hoping someone can help me here, my wife bought a brand new Ford Fiesta ST back in 2008, it has only ever been serviced at the our local dealer we bought the car from, took it in for a service and two new front tires last Thursday and got a call saying the front nearside hub has stripped a thread for the wheel bolt and it is a £305 repair to replace the nut! They said it was from corrosion and then told me the bolts appear to have stretched? Also stated that all the wheel bolts show this problem and that all the hubs will need a repair as the threads might strip and we can potentially have a wheel fall off whilst driving. I have never ever heard of this problem with any car ever! I think that the wheel bolts have been over-torqued...
I'm going to order a leveling kit for my Ranger, and with that some bigger tires. My question is what tire? I want All-Terrain tires as I have no need for a Mud Tire on the Ranger. The Ranger is mostly a DD but would be nice to do some trails with it and some towing from time to time. Looking for a aggressive looking tire that has good life, and will not break the bank. I have narrowed it down to a few tires. BF Goodrich T/A KO2 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W Toyo Open Country A/T II Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac Nitto Ridge Grappler Current Tires are the Factory LT265/65/17 (30.5") Hankook Dynapro AT2 Going to a LT285/70/17 (32.8") Appreciate the Feedback
Been wanting to roll on dubs for awhile and the day has finally come. Been riding on 16x10s with 315/75r16 tires for the past 6 years, it's time for an upgrade. The truck is a 150 miles away from hitting 200k so had to do something for its landmark. The new setup is 20x12s with 35/13.50r20s. They weigh at least 2x more than the old ones, super heavy. It's my only complaint but to be expected since the tires are load range F. Running 28psi in them at the moment but would probably roll just fine with 5psi since the tires are 12 ply.
The tires have around 27,000 miles on them. I hit a curb and cut the side wall of the front passenger tire, yep.... Looking for some guidance on replacement. I called a local shop and they will only replace all 4 tires but it would be based on how much tread is left on the remaining 3. I assume since they have around 27,000 miles the amount of remaining tread does not qualify keeping them on. So my question is do I really need to replace all 4? Can I just do 2 (same axle)? or maybe even 1 if the tread is acceptable on the remaining tires (doubtful)? EDIT: I called my local Ford shop and they are recommending 2 tires since its 4WD and not AWD.
On the 4th of July I purchased a 2018 Explorer Sport with 10,200 miles on it. Since I also own a 2016 SHO I’m very familiar with the Ford product and especially the 3.5 tt. But if anything weird is going to happen...it’s going to happen to me. Just my luck. Within a week or so I received a low tire pressure notice for the driver front. After a little investigation I noticed it was the valve stem. It had a serious cut in it. Took it to the dealer and it was handled under warranty. Ok. No harm, no foul. Yesterday I was on a 4 hour road trip and get the low pressure warning again for the passenger front this time. Pull off the highway, get some air, jiggle the valve stem and yep. That’s the issue. Limp home, watching a slow decline in...
Hi guys and gals I recently upgraded to a 2004 explorer limited in pearl white... love this thing and with only 68k miles shes running like a dream!!!! The only real issue with the truck (aside from what I assume is having to do the blend door AGAIN on another truck) is the "chrome" wheels are peeling and it throws the whole look off... I know older mustang wheels fit for the most part or so that's what I read... well I stumbled across a set of black American racing torque thrust (bullitt) style wheels locally... They are 17x7.5 45mm offset 72.6mm hub 6.020 back spacing.... Would these wheels fit and work without having to use spacers...? Also I could just source wheels from a mustang website like americannmuscle 17x8 30mm offset 5.72...
