I finally ended up going to the dyno and let me tell you I am trading in this damn truck at the end of this summer. Here are the mods that I have done. Full air intake BBK Throttle body Apten Chip Bosch Platinum plugs Magnecor Spark plug wires Flow Master Exhaust. 75 shot of nos End results 148.2 hp and 168.7 ft lbs of torque. Thats with out the juice due to the fact that my chip is either not working or not doing what it is supposed to do with the nos setting. When I flipped the chip to the nos setting my air/fuel ratio stayed the same. Huh go figure. After we found out the chip wasnt working we decided to spray a small shot of nos. Come to find out the nos solenoid that I got from summit racing was no good...
well, it has been an awesome day. had a great day hanging out at G-Force Performance and the Saleen made some really good power on the dyno with the Superchips Xcalibrator2...only thing i have to figure out is why it is only making 7psi, i put a 2.5inch pulley on which should be good for 10-11psi, so i have to track down what it might be...i am happy with the power it is putting down right now though, and this is without the water/meth injection, i am going to go back next week to tune for that once i get a couple of bugs worked out... 286WHP @ 4900 332WTQ @ 4300 let me know if you have any suggestions about the boost...
This weekend I went to the dyno on friday. The only thing I have changed since the last time was my intake. I changed to the Edelbrock Victor 5.0. We put it on the Dyno and it made 540 hp and 615 tq with no NOS. That is 20 hp and 75 tq more than last time. I was happy. I then put it on the trailer and took it to the track at Bradington FL for the NMRA race. I got there late on Saterday because of some bad timing and problems. Nothing to do with the car. I ran it on drag radials. These tires hooked last time I went to the track with 480 hp and 490 tq. That time I went a 13.0 at 100 but the car was not tuned right and the tranny was broken so I ran crappy. This time all hell broke loose. I got to burn out box and did my...
Ok so i decided to go out for a drive (anyone else just get the urge to go out for a drive at 10:30 at night? lol) Pull up to a light and this Grand Am GT pulls out from behind me up next to me stupid ricey sounding muffler (dont know why) we take off and there was no chance for him from the beginning got to the next light he took off with me again but when i was about 2 lengths ahead he gave up. Then at the light to get onto the highway an F-150 (around 2003 or so) pulls up next to me. The way our on ramp works is 2 lanes make the turn and merge into 1 on the ramp. We both ease around onto the on ramp probably going about 15 and when we both are straight on we floor it. Killed him as well i was at 80 like 30 yards before the highway. I...
I'm off to the tracks to finally race my Explorer. I'm kinda nervous, hope my truck will handle it ok. I'm also kinda doing the race for my mother too. But I'm taking all the subs and other junk out before hand. Hopefully I can win atleast a handful of races and I'll drive away happy. Hopefully one can at least be a hatch back Honda. Well as many of you know im going to the track at the end of the month. Im looking for some more weight to pull from my truck. So far I have All seats (1 race seat), spare tire, jack, all plastic inside pieces including doors, rear carpet, roof rack bars, all stereo equip. What else can I take out?
Just curious, as I had been looking and there are several kits available that will work on any engine. Has anyone actually used water/meth injection on a N/A explorer? I know it can help lower intake temps and reduce detonation under boost, but in a N/A set up, how much timing can be added to the 4.0 ohv before there is nothing left to gain from it? thanks
Hello all, I just joined up a couple of days ago and have spent quite a bit of time here researching threads and checking out everyone's rides. I'm very impressed with the site. I've done extensive mods to my sport trac, and I'm wanting to add a Nitrous system. I'm fairly set on a 75 shot dry system, but up for suggestions. What all will I need to make this system work safely for my set up, including other engine mods that I should do for adding nitrous? What are the best systems/kits on the market? Here are the current mods that I have: - Flowmaster 50 series exhaust - MAC Intake - Pro-M MAF Sensor - Apten Single Chip with 91 Octane setting - Poweraid TBS in the very near future Any suggestions on...
hey guys, im looking to either bore a used 4.0 SOHC out like 5 thousandths or 30 thousandths depending on what pistons i can find..i wanna put 350ish horse through the engine, so im looking around for forged pistons, but cant find anything...if i bore the engine 5 thousandths to clean out anything that has happened in the cylinder, do i use the stock bore? or do i need bigger?...and what about a 30 thou. bore? does anyone know exactly where i can find some of those pistons, i have looked and looked, and NOTHIGN!! ughh thanks alot
Can anyone who installed a gss340 send me some pictures of how they did it? The stupid plastic 'fuel pump box' is confusing the **** out of me. The fuel is drawn through a sock, into a vertical 'straw' up into the black plastic piece under the hat of the box where the fuel lines slide in, and seemingly the fuel is drawn into the output of the pump.. It makes no sense at all. I had imagined the pump with the sock on the bottom right in the gas sucking on fuel, squirting out the top.... 1996 v8 usa build The truck is stuck on a lift in the Shop on base. I am overseas military, and parts availability is rough. The shop doesn't open till Wednesday 1330 local... I have to have it driving by Wednesday night to drive to Frankfurt Thursday...
so jds been nagging and nagging me to get away from not having any boost. he even set me up with contact info for a vortech kit, and after waiting for a month or so to get things straight with money, i bought it from a guy. he bought it used and never installed it. just reshipped it to me the way he got it. so i may be missing a few nuts and bolts. hopefully a couple people on here can point me to what might be missing and any extra tips with it. im gonna try and email vortech and see if i can get an installation guide or parts list. so ill need new pipe boots, a couple are torn, all of em are used. and wrap the intake pipes. engines gonna be stock compression 94 block, new pistons, maybe sohc pan, 422, 93tm heads with si valves, 988...
