Need for Speed!

i want more power in my 95 explorer...think i should go with a supercharger? whats better turbo or supercharger? and where can i get either for my 95? i only see them for 91-94 and 96-00

John Vanek from Explorer Express called me last week about another issue, and told me in passing that they have 4 blower kits left in stock for the 5.0 X. When they're gone, that's it - no more. The set up is too expensive warrant another run. With tax and shipping it's a tad over $3600. Now, I'm far from cheap - but ya know, the truck was over $30k, the brakes suck, it's painfully slow, I probably have over $3k in mods, and another $3600 for a blower isn't too appealing..........I'm seriously considering cutting my losses and buying a Lightining. Anybody have any input pro or con? My buddy tells me (and I know for a fact) it would be way cheaper to buy the S/C and keep the X than to get ino another new car and all the...

i posted this a while back in the under the hood section and it got buried before anyone answered. this question is for anyone who can help me out. why is it that superchargers for mustangs usually go for $1000 less than for a 5.0 X? is there something that needs to be upgraded on the X that is included in the kit that the stang doesnt need? fuel management? ignition? does it have to do with the OBD-II computer? i see chargers for 94-95 stangs on e-bay all the time for $750-900. what would be involved in adapting one of these to a 5.0 X? i know i just asked a lot of questions, but i need some help on this one. if i can get a used stang charger for low dough and spend a LITTLE extra making it work on my X, then that would leave me with...

I'm probably posting this prematurely, but I'm so excited! It turns out I just got an infusion of cash, so I might be able to afford the supercharger! I have to somehow get my parents to approve and help out a little bit, but I think its very possible I could have it done by late January. I also have to determine if I can do it myself (with a little help), or if I need to have it professionally installed. I'll also need to get a larger MAS, so that's another $300. So has anyone heard anything lately about the BBK supercharger? I know there was a big buzz a while back, and I even called truckperformance.com to see what's up. I'm gonna give them another call and ask them if they've shipped any, and if they're actually shipping on...
