Performance Lighting

Aftermarket lighting. Driving lights, fog lights, rock lights, HID, halogen. Make your Ford Explorer light up the night!!

After going with Morimoto hid projectors last year, I wanted my fog lights to match my 5500k headlights in terms of color and output. I thought about led bulbs but couldn’t live with the glare that I’d be causing for other drivers. So I opted for a led fog light assembly with a cutoff. I finally bought some Type S fog lights and got to work figuring out how to mount them. I wanted to use the stock fog light bolt holes but they don’t make adaptors for second gen Explorers, and the new fog lights wouldn’t fit that way as they stick out further than the stock lights. I got lucky because the Type S mounts fit perfectly into the fog light bracket.
Ok so finally we have relief. I got a chance to talk to a ford technician and he got me the schematic for the wiring. He showed me how to bypass this damned module. All you need to do is cut 4 wires and reconnect them. The only thing u lose is ur computer will no longer tell you that one of ur headlights is no longer working. 1. Unplug module. 2. Cut the White/Light Green wire. aka. pin 1 3. Cut the Dark Blue/ white wire. aka. pin 11 4. Soldier and heat wrap wires. from step 2-3 5. Cut Dark Blue/Light Green Wire aka. pin 12 6. Cut Dark Green/ Orange Wire. aka pin 13 7. Soldier and heat wrap wires. from step 5-6. 8. Reconnect plug with all remaining wires to Lom. Worked perfectly for me. I assume this will help all of you that...
I have a 2002 explorer ltd. Out of the blue, the interior lights stay on after the engine is shut off. The never go out (mirror lights also) I have lubed every door hinge...nothing, I make sure all doors are closed...nothing, those damn lights won't go out. One other thing..the drivers side door trim door lock switch doesn't work, after I shut the engine off, unless I turn off the interior lights but rolling down the swithh until it clicks off. If anyone has any insight i would appreciate it. I am so frustrated with this. IF I have to I will bring it to the dealer. Thanks
I've been thinking about little things I can do to my truck that are cheap. I was thinking of taking off the front emblem, sanding off the blue but leaving the chrome colored Ford there, and then putting a small bulb behind it. or... sanding off the blue AND the chrome on the ford, and then painting all but the Ford letters white (to match the truck). so the Ford name would be lit up... I'd put a few coats of black on the back of the white paint so that the light didn't 'bleed' into the white. let me know what you think Edit: Also, what color bulb should I use? I was thinking clear... but red might be good too just to have a different color... It would match my calipers/sway bars then. I was thinking of just getting a...
Can't find my test light....... Trying to get a quick answer on my fog light connections. 1996 EB Ex. fog lights. factory 880 bulb replaced with 893 bulb. This is the backside of the driver side bulb after installed. Which pin is the Pos. (+) ? Red or Blue? Passenger side same or opposite?
Afternoon everyone! I have recently became a carrier for the post office using my 99 Explorer for my route vehicle.I am driving from the passanger seat so the turn signals are awfully difficult to operate in this position but I need them at certain times. Since i drive with the four way flashers on 99% of the time why couldnt I mount two switches on the passenger side that would interupt one side of the four way flasher effectivly making it a turn signal. Anyone have any info on accomplising this? Any input/help is greatly apreaciated.
