YESSSSSS Well she is driving now. I spent 3 days at a friends house and we had a blast. My junk its a currie built 9" with YJ outers. Stupid lift 5.5 coils. Rancho 5000 shocks with 15 inches travel. There are 5.13 gears riding on an ARB air locker. Warn manuals (of course) and maintained the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. Long radius arms (will be heim jointed soon) and all custom steering. We literaly finished this project just a few hours ago. There is a few small things left to do but I drove it the 2 hours home tonight and It drove FAR better than it did with the TTB, and ZERO bump steer, I mean NONE. You will see why when you see the pics. I must thank my friend for all his help and his and his wife's hospitality...

Like everyone else here who swapped axles, I felt the need to get rid of my TTB after running 35?s for a couple years and breaking everything (shafts, spindles, hubs, joints, bent beams, cracked brackets, even cracked the diff in half upon snapping inner u-joint on pass side). I also wanted to get more flex. I followed the lead of several members here, but READ ON because I also have done some things that no one here has yet to have done or at least openly shared with everyone. Most of this custom work was modeled after my good friend Matt?s Cherokee who swapped 44s front and rear and his setup has worked very well for the past couple years. I?m also including a parts list as well as the vendor that I located the part if anyone...
Just got the straight axe in this weekend. Pics coming soon but I'll give you the skinny on the swap. Pulled the ttb friday after work. Set up the axle welded front and rear mounts. and had weight on the axle saturaday. Sunday brakes and steering and tighten every thing. Along with first road test which resulted in sloppy steering which is fixed by a sleeve in the steering knuckle D30 ( out of Xj): $200 Grand wagoner steering: $25 Xj rear leafs: freebie fixed front mounts: $50 8" buggy spring to shackel rear mount: Freebie Soa: $20 rotors and brake pads: $45 wheel base extended 1" To 2" waiting on 6" Xj leafs which will sit about 4" Custom front shock towers It's not pretty but it's going to get the job done

I don't have near as many pretty pics as most of you, and no build pics, but it works pretty damn well. Using the generic forklift test the front tires come 42" off the ground before a rear tire lifts, and both rearts lift bfore the front will, which Im thought kinda odd. I don't have any wheelin pics, but the two supplied are from a trip to Tellico last year....poor things been on the road ever since. Any queastions, let me know. Coda
It's the moment you've all been waiting for. It's not totally done all the way, but we just have minor things to do. What's left is: Rear brakes, attach front driveshaft, move the axle forward maybe 1-2", more welding, put Cory's steering on, then shocks. This should take less than a day to do. '76 EB D44 '76 EB 9" 35/12.50R15 BFG MT's 15x10 Rockcrawlers Coils from James Duff James duff extended radius arms Front and rear ARB's 4.56 gearing RS9000X shocks steering from CoryL Here are the new coils. They worked perfectly. I'll have more pics as the rest of everything gets together. I'll paint everything later too. Here are previous pics of the build up: My old axle...
