Hi all, Been a real long time since I posted last. Unfortunately, I've been way too busy. Well, after months and months of waiting, I've finally tracked down tires for my '01 Sport. TireRack had two choices for me this morning: Pirelli Scorpion A/T's or Yoko Geolander AT+ II's. I opted for the Yoko's based on research and the recommendation from the fine folks at Tire Rack. Two questions: 1) what do you think of the Yoko's? 2) should I mount 'em white letters in or out? I've been trying to find pics of Explorers with stock rims and stock size tires mounted black letters out. Does anyone have any? Also, how rediculous is it that NO ONE will sell me a tire that is not on Ford's list. Hell, I can't even buy rims anymore. Too...
I want to get new tires for my 96 Eddie Bauer Explorer. I've always had 15" wheels on my 4x4s and tires were reasonable. I've always ran BFG A/Ts, but thier price on 16" is a little high. Eventually I'll put a 4" suspension lift and run 15x8 wheels and 33s. I just want to put something on it a little bigger than stock that will do fairly well off road and good in the snow for now. Yokohama offers a 265/70 15, it's nicely priced and has a nice open tread pattern. Has anyone used this tire, opinions? Thanks.
i'm thinking of ordering these tires in 265/70/16 for my 03 xlt and was wandering if anybody has any good or bad experiences with them. the local kal-tire shop here in vancouver b.c has them on sale for $193 a pieace down from $305. the tread looks nice and aggressive and the tire guy said there alot quiter than most A/T tires. so i thought i couldn't pass these up. what do you think???
Getting new tires for the explorer and I'm really looking hard at the Yokohama Gealander A/T plus 2's. Are they any good? They look nice and seem to rate pretty good at Tirerack.com. What's the widest size that will fit on the stock 15x7 wheels? I would like to stay with the same outside diameter as stock so my speedometer will still be accurate. Thanks.
Before I moved to San Diego I had Yokohama AVID TC 320s on my truck Now that I am in need of new tires I can't find them. I did find Yokohama Avid S/T. When I called Yoko for information they said the AVID TC is only made for Canada. My question is does anyone know the difference between the tires, they almost look the same. Can anyone think of a tire that comes close to the AVID TC 320 if not not the AVID S/T
I neded a set of tires in a hurry after it snowed today. Looked at Walmart truck tires----they looked good with nice blocky lugs and deep tread, but just don't trust Walmart for any quality. A local goodyear dealer put on a set of Westlake CR-861 235-75r-15 tires at a great price. They are 6 ply with deep tread pattern. They seem to handle really good with a firm ride. The only dislike is the letters on the tire are raised about a good quarter inch off the tire sidewall. Never noticed that when I chose them. Anyways--decided to look online for some reviews and find no information at all on this particular tire and very little info on the brand itself. Seems to be made by YKS and used more for commercial truck applications. Has...
