WHOOPS!!

Sometimes things don't always go as planned. Post pictures and stories of your best...or worst mishaps here.
So I've finally gotten the motivation to pull my SOHC and replace the timing system. Ive been pulling and disconnecting stuff right left and center no problem, my rad came out beautifully, steering pumps outa the way, then I done ***ed up... I'm onto the A/C compressor and Im looking at it and went to taking that off the engine. A step calls for removing a 13mm bolt on a support bracket for a line. Well, I found a 13 mm bolt on something that resembled a support bracket. Ohh It wasn't. That bolt shot out and with it 9 ounces of yellow crap and me screaming and running away just as fast. Jeez, for 9 ounces it sure covered my windshield and engine compartment well.. This night of work ended with me walking away, taking a shower, and...
Here is some video from "DriveCam". They put cameras in fleet vehicles so they know how/why/who's fault accidents are. Make sure you listen to the audio.. I just love the last 2 lines.. Basically, the steering gave out (I don't have the details) and they went for a ride.. *****WARNING***** There is some swearing in this... I bet you would say the same thing if this happened to you.... ****************** I recomend you right click and do a save as... http://mark.legendz.com/misc/Steering-Failure_Front_View-produced.wmv ~Mark
"it ain't fun unless you break something" I thought that was just the guys' testosterone talking, but apparently those are the magic words that actually keep damage from happening....something about reverse psychology on suspicion, lol Muskrat was the first to run into problems, when he ran into small pond of muddy water that I >ahem< may have *directed* him into :D Never seen someone act so fast..as soon as the water came over the hood, he had the truck off, Das Frem on the Cb and was out on the hood (all in under 10 seconds!!!) one quick yank and the danger ranger was loose, but wouldn't start  (X24 took this pic)
a fat old 8 point ran into the side my explorer today. i was breaking because of the doe in front of me and i swerved and missed her but the damn buck chasing her ran into me. he got the rear passenger door, the rear quarter panel, and the rear tale light. That ******* didnt even have decency to die so i could have some fresh meat. my maker was watching out for me though, it could have been really bad. so do any of you guys and gals have a spare rear tale light for a 95 xlt? i think that they are the same from 95-97.
so today I set out to change my rear exhaust section as my muffler had blew. had a bit of trouble getting it off so I took it to a shop. They removed the old exhaust but then couldn't get the new one on so after paying £20 to have the old one removed, I now have had to take it to a second garage to have the new one put in place... what a load of bs....
ok, so heres my story: so i washed and waxed the explorer today. looks so nice and clean and shiny. but thats not the story. i went over to my church to help out with somthing. while im there im looking out the window at my nice clean car. this exterminator pulls up and parks next to it. nothing unusual, but im watching him. he stands a 12ft (or so) aluminum extension ladder against his truck. pretty much vertically. he goes to get some other stuff out of the truck, and i say to my friend, thats going to fall over. so while we're standing there, it falls over and...you guessed it, hits the side of my precious explorer!! so after thwarting the loud "****" That was coming out of my mouth, i went out there to inspect the damage. he's...
right so i just a phone call from my aunt that she poured powersteering fluid into her transmission. so now tommorrow i have to go and flush it out. WTF. and its goin to be way hot out. were going up to `110 and the average is 95. ill post updates later on.
happened upon this scene today after coming back from hiking: http://www.appstate.edu/~cm42284/000_0020.jpg http://www.appstate.edu/~cm42284/000_0021.jpg http://www.appstate.edu/~cm42284/000_0022.jpg http://www.appstate.edu/~cm42284/000_0023.jpg http://www.appstate.edu/~cm42284/000_0024.jpg apparantly this mountaineer has been there for almost a month. im pretty sure it was a drunk driver. i just wonder when it will ever get cleaned up. sorry for the pics being so big. i dont have photoshop on my computer. i can only shrink the file size when i'm using a campus computer.
I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not, but I was in my first accident today. I was going straight and a lady was turning left across my lane, was in my lane and I hit her front fender/door area. It was about a 2000 Chevy Tahoe and I did plenty of damage to both mine and her car. The police officer said it was her fault and she didn't get a citation because the commisioner's policy is to not give a citation unless someone is hurt in the accident. My car is messed the hell up, had to be towed, same with hers. We don't know for a fact but it will probably end being totalled. And that sucks because I just bought the car in July. Even if it isn't totalled, it will be very close, I don't know if I still would want...
