A section taken from a website : "You have very good reason to be frightened about an SUV pursuit. Last year in Tuxedo, NY a police officer was killed when he was ejected from a Ford Explorer that rolled over while giving chase. It is said that a leaf spring broke but I've driven Explorers and their handling is absolutely dangerous."-------------http://www.allpar.com/squads/experience.html Anyone ever have or heard of a leaf spring breaking on a X????
I was on my way to work about a month ago, when I heard a gut wrenching POP, and the truck started to list. Luckily, I was only going 35. I thought the tire had popped. No big deal, right? I can get the tire for about $140, or just have my dad bring the spare. [Why he took it out, I will never know.] I didn't want to leave the truck in the middle of the road, so I gave it some gas and limped it to the nearest parking lot.. literally 15 feet away. I hopped out and realized that the whole tire, wheel and all, was still in the road. I had driven it on the rotor the whole 15 feet, and there was a line in the road from it. I saw the rusted, sheared studs and already knew what happened. I posted the pictures on Reddit and got a lot...
Had a little oopsie yesterday morning on the way to work. Fracture of the body of the calcaneus that extends into the medial subtalar joint: Oblique fracture of the medial & lateral malleolus: Not sure what this looks like at the moment. 2012 H-D Road Glide Ultra:
Hi all, I'm new here. When I saw the "Whoops" forum, I figured I gotta share a story.. I picked up an 88 Ranger to run at a small dirt-rally track we have here. It had a lot of problems, including cracked heads and back taxes, so it was too expensive to ever put it back on the road. I got it for $200. So anyway, I did the heads, and a bunch of other things, and got a few races out of it so far. ... but I never got around to lowering it because of all the other repairs. I needed shocks too, but didn't have the funds.. The first time at the track, I won my heat race. I was running second in the main, but overheated with 5 laps to go. .. had to pull out. Second time, something just wasn't right. She had no power down low.. I...
This is my first How-to hope you enjoy Things you will need. (1) A good friend to teach you how to mount and balance your 31 10.50 you just bought. (2) An autoshop to do so (3) About an hour and some money to use a lift bay and the machines. (4) 4 days of rain First step is to mount and balance tires of course. Throw the old ones in the back because you can sell them on CList. The next thing you need to do is decide that you and your buddy need to go try the new tires out, by going threw a couple mud.. i mean sand holes. Splash threw a few shallow puddles on your way to the side trail you know to have a decent test for your new off road mud throwing tires. Tip for beginners. Don't stop to get anything to drink such as a...
Got some pretty upsetting news guys. I took the exploder out to the mud hole played in the mud and water as usual showin off my 35's and my snorkel.. But this time she didn't make back home.. :/ on the 30 min drive home I didn't realize the radiator was caked in mud frontside and backside; as I'm driving down the interstate the ol lady points put to me that my truck was running hot so I pulled over opened the hood and let it cool down for a while... About 15 min later it started back up and was back a cold.. Out of no where the needle shoots straight to hot! As I am pulling of my exit it dies on me so I pulled into the gas station and was rinsing off the radiator an letting it cool down again.. Eventually she starts up again...
For all of you that know my dad and how well he likes to take care of his Explorer, I just want to say he finally did it! My dad has finally joined the "roll over" club after yesterdays run him and I did with some friends of ours. Now that it has happened all I can think about is how often my dad got told that he needed a few dents and dings in his Explorer to make it a true 4-wheeler. Well, you can now classify it as that LOL. Here is proof.
My work truck broke down today, so the mechanic came out to fix it. He called me over and asked me to "hold this" a 2-1/2 inch wrench while he proceeded to tightened down a large nut with a 40" pipe wrench. He put all of his weight into it and it started to lift me off the ground. Thats when he slipped off the nut, pivoting my wrench full force into my forehead...I earned 9 stitches and a headache.
hey guys, my merc got rear ended in the school parking lot today. at the moment it looked like i could just take the bumper off and put the plastics back in place and it would be set, but then i got it on the lift and realized the bumper was bent, plastics kinked, bumper mounts bent. but the guy that kit me being a good ole boy from GA said if it was still like that tomorrow he'd have a sledge hammer to knock it back.... but basically he hit my corner with the middle of the bumper on his F-150 and knocked out everything. what do you guys think it'll cost to fix it? pretty much the bumper, all the rear plastics, brackets, etc need to be replaced. how much would an auto body shop charge? the trucks a 98 V8, it looked like it just rolled...
