WHOOPS!!

Sometimes things don't always go as planned. Post pictures and stories of your best...or worst mishaps here.

Last August I went through Triple bi-pass and after six weeks of going sir crazy elected to take a nice little trip. I chose a nice easy trail because bouncing still hurt my ribs and so off I went. Well I ended up coming to a dead end which forced me to turn around. Well if anyone has been through open heart surgery it hurts like hell to twist your boody to look back. This combined with being lazy I only used my mirrors and sure enough while backing up I hears a srape and then a jolt. Rather than get out to see what I had hit I gave her a bit of gas and watched my new Goodyear MT/R's dig a nice hole. Well I got out and the first thing I noticed was the front right tire had dug itself right down to the control arm hitting the...
I was driving up Little White Mountain in Kelowna B.C. and I over extended the brake line on the passenger's side front. I believe that it happened just after this picture was taken but it is impossible to know for sure. Dead Link Removed Since I was driving uphill I did not use my brakes to come to a stop about 5 minutes later. We met up with some other people and after talking to them for a while we decided to head up to the top of the mountain. I backed out onto the trail and I stepped on the brakes. My foot went right to the floor, right now!!! I managed to stop and I pulled back off the trail. This is what I found. Dead Link Removed We plugged what was left of the brake line with a screw and bled the brakes. Since I...
Guess I'll add my screw ups to the new forum. My Explorer has only been stuck three times in 6 yrs, but all 3 of those were in the last 2 yrs. since I've been driving. First time was 2 winters ago. I was out in our field playing around in the snow when my front right auto hub gave out. I was at the bottom of the field (it slopes down) and couldn't get up the hill. We waited till the next day and the ground froze and it drove right out. So it wasn't really stuck... just temporarily immobile... Second time was this past June. I was at a friends house playing around in his mudhole. I went in a rutted part way to slow and bottomed out. All four tires were turning freely... whoops. After getting pulled out by a Ch*vy (sorry)I...
Here's a copy from another thread Gofast started when we had a real bad trip to a local spot in north Texas. I managed to lay my pretty new and pretty expensive Eddie Bauer all the way over on its right side. Ugh. "It's a little hard to tell, but the gold trim on both fenderwells also got pretty screwed up. You can see where some of it got ripped out behind the front wheel; the rest got scraped up, but since it is pliable, the shape wasn't messed up too bad. The side mirror luckily not only turns inward on impact; it also slides up! The mirror actually got pushed up several inches on its pivot mount and was hanging off of the top. All we had to do was fiddle with it awhile until it snapped back down into place. It is...
well i did it. got stuck in the mud with my little 4x2 here in west palm, fl. the funny thing was that i was trying to avoid something, and went into a hole that needed a 4wd to get out of. my roommate told me that i was going to get stuck, and i said that i wasn't(the famous last words), sure enough i got stuck, 10 MINS. LATER, LOL. i wish that i brought my camera, it would have been a good laugh. but hey i got my truck dirty, and thats what i wanted to accomplish. and i didn't break anything, thankgod.
On the same trip up Little White Mountain as the brake hose problem I had another incedent. After continuing to the top of the mountain and sightseeing from there we decided to come back down. At one point of the trail something very strange happened. It was an easy section and I did not expect anything out of the ordinary. As I drove over a big rock with my front tire it tipped the rock up and caught the crossmember. As I continued to move forward the rock lifted my truck right off the ground. I couldn't understand what was happening and since I was fairly close to the edge of the trail and it was a long was down I stopped and called for help over the CB. The conversation went something like this: "Uhh, guys, I think I need some help...
Here is one of my Latest "Whoops!" Dead Link Removed My Rear tire came off a rock about as high as the bottom of my bumper. Well as you can see my tailpipe was between the rock and the bumper for a quick second. I plan to cut it off and add a Chrome Tip, so that next time I can just take the tip off before I go off-road.
Welcome to the new Whoops forum! You've been asking for it, so here it is. Enjoy! And to get this new forum started here is my latest "WHOOPS". We got to camp up on this nice rock formation, ate then headed out for some wheeling. It was a lot of fun, rock crawling, water crossing, etc. All went well until we got to the biggest water crossing. Some Jeeps we knew went first and Rod was next. He got almost there and he got stuck, in the water, and the water was up to the windows almost. He tried to get out but only dug himself deeper in the sand. Then his engine died. We pulled him out and asset the damage. The engine ran for awhile but then it quit I mean the seats were underwater at one point, it was sort of bad. So we towed...
