Tires for Sport Trac

I am looking to purchase a 2002 Sport Trac that has 16 inch wheels. In order to safety the vehicle I need good tires. Right now I have a Ford Explorer SUV with 15's on it. Would I be able to put the 15's onto the Sport Trac? Any answers would be greatful. I went ahead and bought the truck, and put the required 16 inch tires as per the sticker on the side of door.

Yes you can. Depending on tire size it might look a little funny but some models came with 15's

Sounds like a caliper clearance issue with OEM 15" rims.

I had 15's on my 02 sport Trac with no clearence issues
