I'm having almost the same issue with my '08 eddie Bauer 4.6 with 72 thousand miles. I don't have a CEL coming up, or a code pending on my scanner. Looking around the forums the thing that shows up is a bad coil. the newer 4.6 engines have coil on plug design, no wires. Check yours with a scan...
The engine would have to come out to replace the head. I was told the head bolts are quite long.
I hope this does the trick. I already Went out & bought a F 150 for a little more room when towing, so when this is fixed, it's going on the market!!
I just spent 1,800 dollars on both manifolds a month ago that are starting to leak again. Mechanic is being cool about it & wants to take another go with it. Last owner had them done & his mecanic botched the job up big time. He couldn't get a stud out on the right side, so he drilled another...
once you get the pigtail, if i remember correctly, the plug on the explorer is under the dash by the emergency brake on the 4th gen. it's not that hard to see..
I see you were using the Equalizer type weight distribution hitch. boy do I miss mine on the new camper. The first chance I get, I'm going back to the four point sway control of the Equalizer. The Exp tows well. it's just the extra sway control I miss.
Michael, my friend has the exact trailer you have & used to tow it with a Ford Windstar for years. I used to have a hybrid that I used to tow with a '04 with the 4.0. I too had added a 2" hitch. I didn't tow very far with it, but you could tell it was back there.
Now I have a 24 foot trailer...
check the controls when you get home. I've heard a bad blend door actuator, or heat control actuator can make noises when they go bad. move the heat control and change the other control from floor to ceiling.
I'm sure someone who had the problem will chime in. I've been lucky so far except for...
I'm replacing a single CD unit without navigation, and using a universal swc adapter. that problem seems to be fixed. I have this pink wire that has tagged for parking brake lights.
i think it has something to do with a disable feature to keep the dvd from playing while you're driving down the...
Wow, that was easy. I picked up a new head unit and I'm in the process of wiring it up. where did you pull power for the parking brake wire?
Thanks for the help.
How is the front panel held in? Do you have to remove part of the center console?
I'm looking to replace my head unit with a new one here in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks.
