Whats up Explorer Forum! My names Kenneth (Kenny). I'm 23 years old & I'm from Shady Side, MD, a small peninsula city on the Chesapeake Bay about 25 minutes away from Annapolis, MD. I've been using this forum for years now & I'm finally just getting around to contributing back & sharing my experiences & advice w/ modifications & DIY repairs that I've performed on both of my Explorers. My "Ex"plorer Dora (that I unfortunately totaled) was a '02 Ford Explorer XLT 210-hp, 4.0-liter V-6 SOHC (E85) 4WD Aspen Green Clearcoat Metallic Exterior/Medium Parchment Cloth Interior w/ 3rd Row seating option, Trailer Towing Prep Package Class III/IV, Limited Slip Rear Axle w/ 3.73 ratio, 16" Painted Cast Aluminum wheels, Radio grade AM/FM stereo with seek-scan, auto-reverse cassette & single in-dash CD player.
My new Explorer Dora 2.0, is a fully loaded '05 Ford Explorer Limited 239hp, 4.6-liter V-8 SOHC (E85) 4WD Black Clearcoat Exterior/Midnight Gray Leather Interior w/ 3rd Row seating option, Trailer Towing Prep Package Class III/IV, Limited Slip Rear Axle w/ 3.55 ratio, 16" Painted Cast Aluminum wheels, Ultimate Convenience Group Package (Adjustable Pedals w/Memory Settings, HomeLink Wireless Control System) & the Mach audio system- 6-disc in-dash CD changer w/ upgraded speakers & a powered cargo area subwoofer- it's got every option except for the Quad Bucket Seating Group w/Reclining & 2nd Row Floor Console. I lifted both of my explorers & installed 33" tires. Pics to come!
