I had a similar problem in an old Golf and ended purchasing a "flat USB cable" and it worked. It put some pressure on the latch, so you had to force it open a bit, but not too much of a hassle. Amazon has a ton of flat cables.

How did you even get FordPass running on your '17? I didn't think you could get it working without SyncConnect which didn't show up in the Explorer until MY2018. Did you install your own modem?

If you enter a number less than 1000, wouldn't that cause your displayed average to drop? Because you're dividing your lower, manually computed MPG by the higher displayed one, that gives you the bias factor in the 900 range, similar to @15Limited's example.

It's not a single button press, but you can use the right-side steering wheel controls - while in Entertainment mode - to change sources or cycle the preset pages of each source.

Great news! I see you have the Sport. I've got the Platinum which has the two large dials in the cluster as opposed to just the one. I wonder where it would show up in that configuration. One way to find out - I'll try it.

I completely share your frustration on this. We also have a '17 Fusion and '17 Explorer and I've often wished Ford had placed the outside temp on the center cluster on the Explorer. We use CarPlay about 75% of the time in both vehicles, so I often don't have that quick view on that car. I...
