It’s possible, if your OE guides broke, that they are in the pan getting sucked up and blocking oil...
I think you have a bad intake. Shouldn’t be this much problem. You sure all the gaskets were present?
You should be able to see. Best to just put some rtv gasket maker in them.
Did you seal the little holes in the heads? Where the old gaskets tabs went?
You have to prelube/fill the new tensioners before putting them in.

You can try to tap (reverse drill bit) it out. But you’d probably have to remove the cam to get access.
In ‘04, the 4.6 went to Drive-by-wire for the throttle. Disconnecting the battery wreaks havoc with the PCM/Throttle.
Not sure about the 4.0 in ‘04.
