  • I have an interesting headlight bug. I recently upgraded both headlight sockets to heavy duty to accomodate higher wattage bulbs. Seems simple enough, it was, they worked fine.. for a few days. Then strange things began to happen, One or both may be out, right side low beam out usually, but it can very, and if low beam fails on the right, then the right high beam will work, same is true for the left. So I went threw it again and found the wires coming out of the sockets are loose to the point if I mess with them, I can get them to work but not reighiblely. Could the new socket wiring be bad? It happens. But both sockets having the same defect? If it could happen, it would happen to me. My plan was to replace them again, but then I found by flashing the high beems using the mulitifuntion switch both highs come on, and will stay on as long as I hold it. I'm trying to understand why that happens since the socket wires apear defective. Anyone?
