84 bronco 2

hello i,m new here and got my hands on this 84 bronco 2. really wasnt too bad til i got into it. boy oh boy!!!!! now i,m into it too far to turn back. i had to replace complete rear cross frame , mounts, floor mainly from bad to under rear seats, and mounts. now i,m working on all brakes, and will need rear quarter panel repairs.(found not cheap)!!!!! any way friends are after me to remove 2.8 stick in time and put a 351 in???? why not 302!!!! i say. any advise on 351 working out? i do know a 302 will go, a friend has a ranger with one in.... But this thing is four wheel drive,,,, so i,m not sure

I would think the 302 would be a much easier fit, but the 351 could be done.

I have a 1972 bronco which I replaced the old tired 302 with a 98 5.0 explorer and a 470 tranny keeping my carb.

351 would make some nice low rpm tire smoke.
