50" light bar brackets?

Post number 11 has been selected as best answered.

hey guys I have a 1998 explorer Xlt and I was just curious as to what brackets to get to mount a 50" curved light bar above the windshield. I haven't been able to find any for any explorer but have found some for rangers and f150's of the same year. Would either of these work? Or is it one of those things where I have to break out the welder and make my own? Thanks!

I know this is a little late but have you had any luck? I'm running into this issue as well. thinking about just using a flat piece of steel straight up because i measured 50 from door rubber molding to door rubber molding.

How about a roof basket with a curved leading edge, and mount the light bar to it?

edit. I googled "curved light bar mounted to roof basket" , clicked images and found this sexy thing here

Thanks for the suggestions guys! That basket mount does look pretty dang good and looks simple to fab myself...might give it a whirl one day when I have some free time

This ever get figured out? Been searching for my 96 XLT.

Anyone have any luck with this? Has anyone tried the ranger/f150 brackets?

I used the ranger mounts flat ones I tried 3 before I found the right one...

Which one of the three worked?

I made a low profile roof rack for my 1994 that has a 43" curved light bar. It sits back a little from the roof edge so I don't get glare off the hood and its protected by the rack from tree branches.

The second pic is a little hard to see the light bar due to the soft covers custom made by @zukman
