2014 Explorer Sport
Hi everyone. I'm completely new to the Ford family! I've been car shopping for 6 months and test drive a 2014 Ex Sport. I fell in love. What are your opinions on this particular make and model with 70,000 miles on it? It drives like its brand new. I'm a little skeptical about but a used car with that many miles. Thanks for your input!

We have had our 2014 Explorer Sport since October 2013. This is our fourth Explorer and by far the best of all. Quiet, quick and very comportable vehicle. We tow it with our motorhome and it is very easy to tow. We have 35,000 miles, trouble free. Hankook tires seem to be holding up well but we will shift to Michelin when needed. Go for it!

Welcome to the Forum.
The engine has an internal water pump that is very costly to repair should it fail. One or possibly two members ended up having to replace the engine due to no warning of the pump failure.

Check the spare tire well for signs of water or moisture. That was a more common issue with earlier models and still see the occasional post on newer ones. Leaks from the roof or liftgate seams.

Several 'new' owners have had similar questions and I think the best thing is to scroll through the different sub forms and threads to see what is being discussed. There is also a handy 'Search' feature in the upper right that can be helpful once you get the use if it down.:)
BTW, I lease my vehicles so none of these issues are a concern to me nor have I experienced them. Hope I haven't dampened your enthusiasm too much.;)
