I'm going to do an oil change in my -03 xlt and I can't find the specified,
wss-m2c205-a, oil in Sweden where I live. Is it ok to use another oil as long as it's 5w-30?

Yes. Any quality 5w30 will be suitable.

Yes, and then stick with it.

That's a relief.

What is the controversy between 5/20 and 5/30...is it certain yrs or ?

. I really don't know what the controversy is? Some people are just against thinner oils. Ford did start recommending 5w20 in a lot of there engines in the early 2000's. Probably for CAFE. Some engines were backspecced. The 4.0L questioned here is not one of them. Ford stuck with the 5w30 on this engine. Even today, most 5w30 just run a tad thicker over 5w20.
