    Solved Transmission and Transfer Case Specs by year

    Need Help i have a 98 xlt 4.0 sohc vin e. my tranny is a 5r55e with a 4405 t case. can i put on a manual t case on that tranny. need help. :salute:

    Oh geez... 4.0 ohv -> 5.0 swap

    I believe that I have the 5r55E. So i'm sure that I will have to use the 4R70W and transfuer case. I really want to do the swap. Seen that other people have done it, and i want to be part of that. Have lots of time on my hands, so time is not a factor. :salute:

    4.0 sohc to 5.0 I have a 4.0 sohc, have donor vehicle an '98 eddie ex with 40k on the clock. so my trans will not work with the 5.0? Need to know how much work i gotta do. i really need some help. Not sure what model tranny i even have. 98 xlt vin e. can u guys help me? :salute:
