    torque converter?

    hello, new to this forum but not new to forums, i have a 2003 explorer limited 4.6L, the truck was making a weird whining sound when ever i would touch the gas pedal and it would get worse going up oir down hills. we took it to a local shop and they said it was somthing in the transmission...
