    91-94 factory stereo wiring

it could, but I’ve been out of the Explorer game for a while now, so I’m kinda rusty on the subject.

    91-94 factory stereo wiring

sounds like you have the premium audio setup from the factory, that’s routed through the factory amp. If that’s the case, then the fastest and easiest way would be to bypass it by disconnecting the amp and making all new speaker wires from your head unit.

    My '94 extended cab

The old 94 is the recipient of a 98 dash swap with the airbag delete pocket on the passenger side found in the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. The fuse box, gauge cluster, and climate control all work as designed aside from the A/C because I got tired of dealing with crappy compressors. the new daily is...

    My '94 extended cab

Nice. I finished my shenanigans as previously mentioned in my last reply, and it works as intended. It has now found its way to my son, and I acquired a much newer truck.

For Sale 1993 Lifted Eddie Bauer Explorer

I lost the motivation to enjoy this rig like I thought I would. Tyler built it from stock and rebuilt everything as you see it. I did a couple things to it not much, it officially cleared 100k miles on the body and frame. links:93 Eddie Bauer build $3,500 or trade for a nice gen 2 v8 explorer...

5spdman's slow and cheap XLT build

I remember my time with replacing heads on my old 92, as I failed to do the same thing when it came to the exhaust manifolds. I never did succeed in removing them, and bought the pacesetter headers as a replacement. I still have those headers and heads from said 92 Explorer that hasn’t been...

5spdman's slow and cheap XLT build

My wife hasn’t pitched too much of a fit about my projects, seeing as I have two presently my 94 Z71, and my 93 Explorer. Fortunately, only one of those two is in a state of is in an inoperable state at the very present moment. Granted it would only take a couple hours to get it back in an...

    Mr Cribb's 94 Extended cab Z71

Update: I drove it and forgot about how much fun it was to drive. Then, I noticed I had a couple issues: 1) a battery drain, so I fixed that with a cutoff switch. 2) another left side sidemarker light issue, so I sourced another light harness from a truck that doesn’t have them built into the...

What did YOU do to your Explorer today?

I finally hit the six digit mark on the day my first grandson was born 5/17/19. It’s taken almost 27 years to accomplish this milestone for the Explorer.

5spdman's slow and cheap XLT build

I miss my old escort I had in high school which was 20 years ago this week. I have found only a few like I had, most were crushed years ago. The escort I had was an 89 GT.

So it has happened!!!! She’s no longer a 5 digit odometer reading, as I finally rolled it to 100k miles. It’s only taken almost 27 years to accomplish.

    Interesting cluster conduct--oil pressure

I wasn’t sure if it did at all, one wouldn’t think so back in the 90’s, but sometimes you just gotta wonder.

    Interesting cluster conduct--oil pressure

It’s as simple as adding the correct adapter to the gauge fitting from the adapter for the OEM switch, and moving forward with the instructions included with the gauge you buy. If I’m not mistaken the PCM operates off of the check oil level circuit, but I’m not 100% on that. I know I never...

    my 92 X "personality disorder"

Camp Liberty/ Baghdad, I never went back after that rotation due to a back injury. I was actually stationed at Fort Drum for four years. I went on a humanitarian deployment to Haiti in 2010, and medically retired in 2013 (thanks to Iraq). Thanks for your service brother.

    Jack's 1993 Explorer build thread

I didn’t realize there was a limit on the amount of pictures you could have. I know I spent probably the better part of a few hours fixing my own stuff, so I cannot imagine how long it took you to fix stuff. Is there a better way to avoid losing pictures?

    Jack's 1993 Explorer build thread

I ran into this issue in my build threads, I just went in and edited my threads and reattached my pictures. I know most people don’t have that kind of time to do that, but it’s a solution to the problem.

    my 92 X "personality disorder"

No, I was stationed at Fort Campbell KY at the time, but I’m presently not too far away from there in SE Missouri.

Thank you, I will look at that gear color and get it fixed.

    93 Eddie Bauer build

No the speedometer is not fixed by a new gear on the vss. That number is straight from the speedometer app on my phone. The speedometer reads 66 or so to get the speed I recorded. I honestly wish it would tach lower as I’m not a fan of higher rpms on the highway for engine life. However, I’m...

What did YOU do to your Explorer today?

Ahh, I didn’t notice you have a sport model. I’ve only had one of those, and I guess it didn’t leak, so I don’t know which way to go on that one. Maybe an eBay special AND some windshield/glass sealant would work? I guess at this rate whichever way you go with should work better than the current...
