    2004 Mountaineer with a rear end noise.

    Hi my POS Mounty, and all other posters. I have an 03 AWD explorer and am having the same symptoms on my front end. I do not have a limited slip ( at least I dont think I do) but those bearings on the pinion and all that good stuff, would that keep my wheels from spinning at different speeds...

    03 Mercury Mountaineer (front differential issues)

    I am having the EXACT same problem with my 03 explorer that is all time AWD. Do any one of you guys know the correct ratio that I need or where I could look to find the right differential? Also, is the diff. also called the front axle carrier assembly? I wanted to take out the drive shaft too...
