Anyone have any information, PDF's or step by step for removing a transmission for a '02-'05 explorer? I did some searching but couldn't find anything on removing the transmission as a whole from the truck.

Does any of the other functions work??? For example turning the heat on then turning it to the vents, floor, etc.?

On my V6 XLS model I have the transmission cooler sandwiched between the two radiators. I also have a power steering cooler which is mounted to the cross member underneath the motor. Also note my truck has only the crappy class 1/2 hitch on it. Hope this helps you out.

Anyone know where the RCM (Airbag) module is located on an early build 05/01 2002 Explorer XLS??? I thought maybe it was under the center console but was mistaken.... is it higher in the dash... behind the radio area??

Does anyone have a parts list or better yet a crash book PDF file for an '02 XLS? I would like to see the passenger firewall area as to how the sheet metal meets the firewall area from the inner fender, support/apron area.

It would be the under hood box dimenstions. I ended up going to the local dealer and he printed them out for me. then I had to go by a tape measure that has metric on it as well. lol

I noticed today when I put gas into my '93 the fuel gauge isn't working. When u start the truck from a stop you'll see the gauge move back down to zero from where ever it rests at when turned off (usually around half a tank) but whether the tank is full or empty, it reads it as being empty...

My escort did a similar thing... bottom line.. blower motor. Pull it off and check it out... throw some voltage to it, fused of course.. no sense in blowing yourself up, and see if it turns nicely, stutters, etc.
