    vvme hid kits.

Update: My Retro-Solutions/VVME bulbs have done very well. The bulbs have to be about twice as bright than with the VVME ballasts. I am very happy and no firing up issues. If VVME doesn't come through I would highly recommend them. Good luck with VVME though. I hope that your situation is solved...

    vvme hid kits.

Hopefully it will work out for you. The thing that weirded me out with the VVME was how the bulbs when first turned on flash really bright, then take like 1-2 mins to fully warm up.

    vvme hid kits.

One more thing, sorry. Instead of using the 9007 connector that sends power from the light switch to the ballast, I hard wired the ballast with an upgraded harness. I thought that might have been the problem with the VVME ballasts, but apparently wasn't.

They also have a mini h3 kit I might put in my fogs. I have aftermarket fogs.

    vvme hid kits.

http://www.retro-solutions.com/ There you go. So far so good, but only 2 days in. The VVME bulbs seem to be doing fine with these ballasts. Also, I got the 55w ballast. They state on there that you can use 35w-55w bulbs with the 55w ballast. Like I said, so far so good. I'll post more results...

    vvme hid kits.

I went with another brand of ballast and they are digital. Start up is quicker and the bulbs are a lot brighter. Retro Solutions is the brand. I think I will try them out and maybe get a kit from them for my other car. They also have a 55w HID kit.

    vvme hid kits.

I have gone through 3 ballast and another one went out. The first two I had them on the stock harness. Both were on the passenger side. I figured maybe I had an electrical problem. So when I got the third one, I put and upgraded harness on and hard wired everything so there are no connectors...

    Detonation or Timing Chain rattle?

For awhile now I have heard a noise very much like that is described in the timing chain TSB. I have the 4.0 SOHC. Recently I did a sort of tune up. Changed the plugs, fuel filter, oil change with Lucas (is Lucas worth it?) and Seafoam through the vacuum line and gas tank. All of a sudden, I...

    Too much fluid

Well, I shot too much fluid out of the tranny, but refilled with Mobile Mercon V synthetic and added the Lubegard. I got the fluid where it is right above the cross hatched mark on the dipstick and I must say that it actually shifts smoother and everything is smoother overall. Thanks for the...

    Too much fluid

Awesome, Thanks all. After all this, I will feel more confident that the tranny will hold up better on long distances. Thanks again.

    Amp to fit in panel?

I tried that once and found that all of the wires are about half of what a real amp needs. I couldn't figure out why the amp wasn't working. I even found what all the wires did at one point and finally I used a volt meter and found that the remote turn on for the stock amp is around 6V or...

Do K&N air filters reduce engine life?

I've had K&N on all the vehicles I have driven. Ford Escort ZX2, Toyota MR2 and the Explorer. Never had an issue with them.

    Too much fluid

Ok, I got Lubegard Platinum. Which line off the tranny cooler should I take off to drain? Also, I put Lubegard in through the dipstick tube correct? Sorry for all the questions. I have a 2500 mile trip coming up and want the tranny in good order. Thanks.

    Too much fluid

Thanks for the replies. I'll try draining some today. It's about 1 inch or more past the mark. Can I get Lubegard at autozone or napa?

    Confusion

I have an 01 Eddie with the 4.0 SOHC. Anyways, I have been reading and reading and trying to understand what I need and how to do this: TSB 02-7-6 4.0L SOHC Timing Chain Rattle, and how to fix it. I am seeing a lot of different part numbers, and as I read more into this thread...

    Too much fluid

I checked the tranny (5R55E) fluid today and it's well passed the cross hatched area of the dipstick. Do I have too much? And if so, how do I drain it? I checked it while idling in Park and warmed up. Is this correct? I recently had the tranny rebuilt (AMMCO isn't very good BTW, or at least in...

    Better Than Seafoam?

i love the stuff for the gas tank, but i would think that seafoam would be a better choice for cleaning through the brake booster. It could be that the scraping noise you describe could have been solved with just another cleaning. I used Berrymans on my MR2 and it didn't really do much. Then I...

Tranny Missing a bolt... Thank you AAMCO

well, suprisingly enough this AAMCO right down the street from me in Duncanville, TX was pretty nice and pretty quick about fixing it. I am still gonna go under and double check. They are kinda making their own name bad by doing things like this.

Everyones suggestion for the best oil type/wieght to use in your SOHC?

same here. I plan on changing to amsoil soon with the secondary filter.

Tranny Missing a bolt... Thank you AAMCO

I just recently had the tranny rebuilt from AAMCO. As i was changing my oil, i noticed that there was a bolt missing from under the pan with fluid leaking out. I was always wondering what was leaking. If AAMCO doesn't replace the bolt tomorrow, does anyone know the thread and size of the bolt...
