My 2014 Sport is nothing like that. I run Pirrelli Scorpion Verde All Seasons and they haven't caused me any issues. I have next to no torque steer and my steering is nothing like you are explaining.

Are you sure it has front sensors? The XLT doesn't come standard with them and I'd think that it doesn't have many options equipped if it doesn't have Homelink in it.

Nope. I'm just shy of 49,000 miles, so close enough. According to the maintenance records it had regular maintenance. Only two major issues seemed to be that the previous owner had the shiftier lever replaced and I had to get my transmission rebuilt/replaced a couple weeks into having it.

Another suggestion for the fuse: On my explorer I have my dashcam hooked up to the Heated Steering Wheel fuse. I don't have that option in my car, but it still gets power only when the car is on. Probably safer than tapping RCM fuse. Though, I'm not sure if all explorers have that fuse even if...
