    Codes 1131 and 1152

Well I guess I had been neglecting a few things. So far I've changed the forward 02 sensors. I adjusted the idle. I found a bad spot on the TPS and replaced it. I still had the codes. So yesterday I went thru my "service" note book I keep in the glove compartment. I looked up the last time i...

Okay I took her for a ride this morning and she's running smooth. After about 45 minutes the CEL. I got home and checked .. Codes 1131 and 1151. I guess I better get the multi meter out and continue checking.

Monroe Max Air Shocks for rear end?

You're better off with the warrior shackles. I did the Monroe air shocks and all you get is a stiff ride. Also one of the seals blew after about two years. JMO

    Codes 1131 and 1152

My codes had come back but I think I found the problem (problems). I got out the multi meter and scanner. First the idle (RPM) seemed a little high so I checked it with my scanner and it was so I re set that .. idles smooth now. I probed the TPS with the multi meter and I found " dead spots...

    Codes 1131 and 1152

The only way I could do it was to remove the front passenger side tire and go thru the wheel well flap. The drivers side took 10 minutes. The passenger side took about 25 minutes.

    Codes 1131 and 1152

Well yesterday I installed the 2 Motorcraft specific pre cat 02 sensors. The drivers side was cake but the passenger wasn't as easy .. especially since it was 28 deg's. I'll post back after I go for a good ride .. 1.5 hrs or more.

    Solenoid ?

I had the heat on .. it was about 32 deg's outside. I just cleaned the MAF, the throttle and SeaFoamed the intake ... I'll see if that helps.

    Solenoid ?

For the past few weeks I get a really bad vibration when stopping at a light or stop sign. After stopping I can hear an audible click from the engine compartment (solenoid) and then I get a vibration for about 5-10 seconds and then it will smooth out. You can even feel it in the brake pedal. Any...

    Codes 1131 and 1152

There are no new trouble codes. It only happens when I'm on the highway for 1 1/2 hrs or more and it's always the same codes. Scan Tool .. Pocket OBD Yes the reading were taken as soon as I got home with the CEL on. Thanks, Doug

    Codes 1131 and 1152

Thanks for your replies 97ford50x. So you don't think the tach/fuel gauge freezing up and the 02 codes are related ? I just found it odd everything is fine until I'm on the highway for an hour and a half or more. Then usually the gauges start to freeze, then a buck and then the CEL. I was...

    Codes 1131 and 1152

I believe they were universal. They were Bosch and I purchased them at Napa. They came with a very long wiring harness which I assume is to fit multiple applications. I also have another problem and I don't know if it's related or not. After being on the highway a few hours my tach freezes up...

    Codes 1131 and 1152

I guess I should start from the beginning. I have a 99 Ex Sport 4x4 with 4.0 SOHC. About a year ago I had a CEL which were codes 1131 and 1152. The mechanic said 02 sensors were bad so I replaced them all at the same time .. I used Bosch. I still get the same codes but only after driving on...

    Sport Mono Leaf ?

I'm fine with the ride and ride height I have now. It's raised about 1 1/2" in the rear with Warrior shackles and the TT in the front. I just wanted to raise the rear shock mounts for a little extra clearance and a nicer look. ;)

    Sport Mono Leaf ?

I've searched the threads but haven't found any info on my idea. I have a 99 Sport and would like to raise the rear shock mount height ... for clearance and looks. (not the ride height) The set up is a mono spring below the axle, 4 space plates and then the shock mount plate. If I removed the 4...

    Secondary Transmission Filter Installed (Feedback)

I installed mine last December ... just before a snowstorm. I mounted a bracket to the drivers side frame and the kit to that. It hangs straight but you can't tell from the pic .. I took it at an angle. I paint the filter flat black so it's not so noticeable from the front. I still haven't...

New Amsoil cone air filters available now

I recall posting about a year ago about the K&N filter and the oil and mess it made in my intake .... and that was oiled properly. Most replies responded they saw no problem with the K&N. I switched to a TruFlow filter which you still oil but much less and with a tacky oil. It actually...

    gas efficiency?

My 99 has the SOHC with 4.10 rear and I was getting a consistent 12 mpg city and 17 mpg hwy. After doing the exhaust, opening the intake, synthetic fluids and a BamaChip tune I now get 14 mpg city and 21 mpg hwy. That's not bad because I don't granny the accelerator. I'm not hard on it (often)...

    does this seem right????

I have a 99 Sport and I don't know if it will be in the same location but it's worth a shot. First you have to remove the engine cover (over the intake) by removing the 4 screws. After you have that out of the way you will find the PCV valve in the center/rear area. There should be a "T" with 2...

    99ranger misfire #4 need help

Did you have the codes cleared with a scanner ? If you did and they came back I would check the grounds first. I had a similar problem and it ended up a bad ground on the drivers side fender by the fuse block.

What chip/computer tune do you have?

I had Doug (BamaChips) write three programs ... 87 Performance, 93 Performance and 93 Torque for my Sport. Installing them was painless with the Xcalibrator ... it took 4 minutes. I am very happy with the shifts and performance between my intake, exhaust and programs ... my MPG went up as well...

    Scanners (and readers)....Who Uses What?

Last year I purchased the AutoLogic Pocket OBD. I opted for the Professional which was CAN enabled. I'm just a "backyard mechanic" and the unit wasn't cheap but in just one year it payed for itself ... my wife has an Escort and I have my X. I repaced my gauge faces with the New Image Platinum...

    Dyno Tune Results

The recommended for a medium size pickup truck is 12". My Sport is heavier so I could go with 14" but I opt to wait for 16" ... it's safer. Again this is on good, black and clear ice !! Yours should be fine on 16" but you should probably hold out for 18". As I said mine is a little over 5K and...

    Dyno Tune Results

That's why there's air in the tires ! Seriously you have to know the ice before driving on. Good, clear black ice void of bubbles is the best. Even with this I wait for about 16" or better. Milky, white or refrozen looking ice is not safe. It's best to know the body of water because...
