2001 5.0 intermittent power loss and missing

I appreciate all your comments, and I thought I had this thread set up to email me notifications...my bad that I missed them. A mechanic friend/coworker lent me another code reader that I will try tonight. It started missing real bad again last night and my son said the CEL was back on. He also...

2001 5.0 intermittent power loss and missing

Googleing You Tube now on "2001 Explorer Fuel Pump Change" I changed the fuel pump on my wifes old escort years ago by dropping the tank, which required exhaust removal...only to then see that there was an access hatch there hidden beneath the back seat. I don't suppose there is an access...

2001 5.0 intermittent power loss and missing

Bump, hoping somebody has an idea. I borrowed a buddies Blue Driver code reader and ran a diagnostic on it last night after it sat for +/- 24 hours. Ran great. No codes. My son drove it to work today and it ran great about 4 miles. On the way home tonight though the miss is back. Any body have...

2001 5.0 250k Saturday, my son says the Explorer is running a little rough. I told him take my SHO to work I'll drive the Explorer. I went out for an errand and it seemed to run fine until I slowed to pull into the store I was going to, it started to miss a little bit. About a 5 mile trip. When...

Torque Monster Header (TMH) Gasket Replacement-Pointers needed

Yes, I shot Robert an email. I was one of the lucky ones when I ordered them that he was very responsive and I got my headers fairly quickly. Does the Remflex material come in sheets?

Torque Monster Header (TMH) Gasket Replacement-Pointers needed

Bringing back from the dead...I know...But I used the search function... So after 10 years and 125k miles, I have a leaky gasket on the drivers side header. I guess I was lucky, or too OCD with my original install. I am going to order the Proform's from Summit unless somebody can say for sure...

2001 Explorer EB ATC Blend Door Actuator confusion

First, thanks for the quick reply. Second... If I change it, I will try to replace the back bolt, but I will not obsess over it. No error codes, but just cold air. Are you saying still could be the actuator? I will look up the hole in the heater box thread. Is there a dash removal thread...

WHY so loyal to Ford Explorer?

Well, I've been a Ford guy since I was 4 years old and realized how bad ass a 1970 fastback Mustang was. Not sure if it was a Boss or a Mach 1 but sounded NASTY and I was hooked. Fast forward 31 years and the wife had just graduated college (she started late...) and we got the '01 EB for her...

Thanks, they are just labeled as "Truck".

    Need Brake help please

Yes, I did a complete fluid change starting with Pass. Rear to Dr Rear, Pass Front Dr front. You are confirming my fears that any air introduced during a master cylinder change may require a shop visit if the air goes through the ABS.

Deerfield Precision Braided SS Brake Lines

Old thread getting bumped, I know. A question, the link in the original post is to brake lines for '95-'01 front and '95-'04 rear. Are these the ones for an '01 Explorer?

    Need Brake help please

First...I tried the search function a couple times and could not find an answer, so, as always all help is appreciated. So I took the Explorer out last week and the brakes seem to be working fine under normal use. Firm pedal, normal stopping distances, no pulsing, pulling, no sponginess or...

    ice storm...no wipers !!help!!

Thanks!! Found them. Luckily, a couple hours in the garage and they started working, I assume with the amount of sleet then snow enough water got in to freeze up the linkage. Not sure if a relay can fail due to temperature extremes, but if it happens again I will change relays, motor and MFS...
